They will almost certainly drop you to whatever your previous status was. (That's what happened to me in the past)
If you are almost sure you won't make 35k/90 days, but would make 18k/90days, then I'd reach out now, and suggest that perhaps an error was made....
If you won't make 18k/90days, then enjoy 1k for a while.

Is there anyone in Oneworld doing straight matches from Star Alliance (specifically Air Canada) I see Air Berlin doing there's but it's only valid for certain people and I'm not one of them.
I know AA is doing the challenges, and I'm thinking about doing that, thought I'm still not 100% sure if it's gonna be worth doing. I have an economy flight coming up in Sept and if it's possible for me to get free "main cabin extra" seating that'd be nice

Yea, I sent in the request and got that reply, I didn't notice the stipulation when I did it, not sure if they added it after or not. Bummer, but in reality they have no reason to match me. But then neither does Alitalia, nor do I have any reason to request it, but I did anyway. I just kinda want the card, and hope that they send out luggage tags

I know several who had this misfortune. Not a good practice in my opinion but they will live
they can continue flying star alliance and not AB but this was propably not ABs intent 😂😂😂

As far as AB goes, yea I swear that wasn't in the T/C when I applied. When someone mentioned getting denied for that I looked again and there it was in big bold letters. Made a bit more sense as to why even getting an email took almost a week. Perhaps they got a rush of these and thought they better put a stop to it.

With AB shut down, any other way to match *A to OW?
Looking to match AC SE status. Got turned down by AB.
Flying BA more frequently and am caught in the LHR Terminal 5 BA-only-lounges conundrum. No lounge is now way to spend a multi-hour layover.
Thanks for any ideas.

Send email to Royal Jordanian asking for status match, and then fly with them once, and credit miles to your RJ account, then they should give you status match.

Looks like they will accept Priority Pass, (Collinson Group). ^
I'll look at doing the AA challenge, but considering most of my trips are YVR-LHR to somewhere in Africa (varies) AA isn't an elegant choice for routing.

Thanks Keitherson, are you referring to the Aspire Lounge & Spa?

AA is nice because even flying BA you earn 100% of miles compared to the usual 50% for Star Alliance. But who knows how long that will last.
But do note that you can fly BA to satisfy the AA challenge.
Also yeah that was the lounge I was talking about
