Add Hawaiian Airlines.

Per HawaiianMiles rep "We are not offering any status matches."

AA Platinum Challenge, status match with DL then status match with Air Berlin

I read somewhere recently where Air Berlin is status matching with carriers outside the OW alliance. I am currently planning a plat challenge on AA (Gold now) but the thought came to mind that once I completed the challenge with AA what would the possibility be of status matching with DL (or any carrier outside of OW) and then status match with Air Berlin.

Reason would be primarily for use of lounges while traveling domestically in US. Also considering a trip to Europe using Avios that would include an Air Berlin segment for possible status acknowledgement.

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Who should I try and Status Match with my Air France / KLM Gold ?

I will have Gold on A3 so do not need another Star Gold ,

might fly on AA or Delta next year and it would be nice to be Gold for the lounges and extra baggage.

thanks for your ideas

airberlin does not match, they offer challenges for a period of 4 months during which you'll have to fly x times or accrue y miles. IIRC only AB marketed flights count.

Okay, thanks...I had gotten the impression from reading this blog that it was a match vs. challenge...

Yeah I just found it myself the other day. Very useful way to go from zero to hero.

I can tell you that I did a match with them. They sent me a fully functioning AB Gold Card (with all the Oneworld perks), which was valid for 4 months. So it is a match vs. challenge, where they give you temporary Gold status, which is extended for a new year if you meet their challenge.

This is what was in the email sent to me:

"Enjoy the advantages of the topbonus Gold status for 4 months as a start,
and the status will be extended for one more year if you collect 17.000
status miles or fly at least 20 times within this period. If you accumulate
8.500 status miles or fly at least 8 times in the same period, you will get
our topbonus Silver status for one year."

There was nothing that suggested that the status miles had to be with AB (although the "20 times within this period" does mean with AB specifically). I cannot confirm this, I have taken one flight with CX and received the perks, but I was on a ticket that gave no FF miles anyway.

Shall we conclude that Etihad has again run another null offer? Got us all excited for nothing. At least in this July round, they sent an auto-reply claiming it will be processed. False advertising at its best.

This is terrible marketing campaign. First they say they need more than a month to process the request, and then they do not even get back to customers. Useless!
