I was also matched to Qantas Gold. Has anyone received his welcome package in the mail ?

...which is weird, considering TK Elite requires fewer miles than many OW Sapphire plans.

Challenges - quick way to status
 

I will be flying 15K-18K+ miles on one return trip this summer on either DL, UAL or AA. Any suggestions on a challenge?

United - If you send a copy of your AA gold card, they should give you gold for 3 month, and if you fly 5,000 miles with United within those 3 months, which in your case you are (if you chose united) , they will give you gold for a complete year.

Looking for status match with GA GarudaMiles, anyone has any experiences? Planning to do it with FlyingBlue, but I think I will 'pass' through another alliance FFP first? Any ideas?

Until around 5 months ago, they didn't really have an official status match promotion, so if they matched your status to silver before that, it would definitely be worth submitting again a request for a status match to gold - because around 6 months ago, I asked them to match my Aegean gold, but they would only give me silver after I book one flight with air berlin or niki, and since then, after the promotion became official,many people have received a match.
So if this match of yours to silver was more than a few months ago, I would advise resubmitting a request. If you think that it would be refused as you have already received a match (albeit to silver), you could open a new account...

Any *Alliance that matches TK Elite?

A few years ago, I status matched with TK. I'm down to Silver now. In the future, if I wanted to try my luck again with TK, should I try to get a status match using the same TK account (which has some activity) or it is better to create a new one instead?

There have been reports of people receiving a match a second time from TK, on the same account, so I would ask for a match using your same account.
If you are worried that you may have to wait a long time and then they might decline to match, there is no problem to open a new account - many people who had NO activity in there TK account received a match - the policy of TK seems to be to match whatever the case, hoping the customer will be persuaded to fly more with TK.

UA offers a status challenge but that's about it

No! And no answer from my 3/1 status match request. When I send an email followup the auto-reply said the status match was closed... so not sure if I'll ever get a reply....
