Anyone have any luck matching to Asiana. I have some *A travel coming up in Sept and the UA program doesn't really do much for me, though they seem to match AA EXP and PLT PRO (GF's.) OZ seems to be the *A current easy favorite- 2 yr qualification, 40k for *A GLD, and 500k for LT GLD, etc.

I've checked the statusmatch.com link and it doesn't have any good news with only one response.

Address for match communication would also be nice.

Thanks.

I've never heard of OZ matching anything. You could try TK, as they seem to give you 4 months of status during which you need to fly a certain amount on either them or *A. Don't remember the exact pqm needed.

It seems that TK usually does challenges and requires a flight on TK within 4 months. I've got an OS P fare RT BKK-VIE-LAX in Sept which I could generate apx 20k so would end up with OZ Gold and half way to DIA (I'd like to have *A Gold for lounge access, though I think with the business class ticket, lounge is offered anyway, but for future use, it would be a nice bene.

Plus, OZ DIA is 40k in 24 months, so better than TK.

The other choice is a UA match, but I'm already Premier with Marriott PLT match. Plus, no chance of ever coming close to their requirements to keep status, since the PQD's are absurd.

Worth a try at OZ even if they deny it.

TK Elite is 37,5k in 24 months.

Or 25k in 1 year. BUT, that's for requalification. Initially, you need 40k in 1 year.

That's what I saw as well. With UA upping the award costs, looks like I'll go with OZ's program.

Aeromexico's Spanish/Mexico landing page for Club Premier lists Elite Match as one of the program features. However, it provides no more details than that.

The English landing page is exactly the same but without the match section.

Has it always been this way, or does this suggest status matches may be coming back to Aeromexico?

Actually, if you select 'elite match' and then 'politicas del programas' you will see the conditions. It looks more like a 6 month challenge than a match to me.
Also, the match/challenge requires a 'Club Premier Corporativo'. account, instead of a regular account.

miamiflyer8 Jul 16, 2017 8:48 pm

JetBlue is currently matching

China Southern also has a status match out right now, and they're matching any status, even within Skyteam. However, good luck creating an account with them. I and many others have had no luck.

Sort of weird that United and Delta Silvers get matched but not AA Gold...

Right? I almost feel like they just forgot to mention it. Would be interesting to hear if any AA gold has tried to get matched and whether they were successful.

AS MVP get nothing either

I just made it through: http://skypearl.csair.com/en/

However, when I sent the email I received the following (bold mine):

How did you make it through the Pearl frequent flyer sign up? I can't get it to send a confirmation to my US mobile number.

Exactly. I've only heard of people being successful with non-US phone numbers.

Alex100i Jul 17, 2017 5:01 pm

About the status match by China Southern: which is the best airline/alliance that likely will obtain the match?
Do we have to send our documents/request to the Sky Pearl email or better to contact China Southern in a different way?

Same for me. However, non-US does not guarantee the SMS (as I read in the comments here)

Swiss mobile worked for me, completed sign up and got the username and password in a further SMS. No problems logging in. Sent off my details for the status match on Saturday, didn't get any email back, automated or otherwise.

I have a bunch of bookings to make in China, I would happily make all those with CZ if this actually works.

Seems to be over for most of us. Just received this in an e-mail reply after applying for status match:

"Special Note:
The "Elite Member Matches" project is specifically sent to members who have been pre-qualified. It’s not a public program. We noticed many irresponsible distribution and malicious reproduction of the project, as well as too much forged, altered application materials, China Southern Airlines North America will suspend the application of non-invited members."

Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for writing to us. Agent No.8291 service for you. Sorry for the inconvenience. We can't match the status. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

Thank you for selecting China Southern Airlines.

I tried a German number and while I got the code, I wasn't able to put it in as the China Southern website kept saying I needed to verify the code somehow?? Oh well, looks like the match is dead anyways.

It is, unless by invitation

Sisyphus1carus Jul 24, 2017 9:53 am

NNnnooo....... Did I wait too long ?? Nuts. Was on holiday and thought I'd do it when I get back & can grab one of my business cards (as per one of the requirements).

Was hoping to match from Qatar Platinum :-(

Anyone know of a way to prompt an invitation ?!

Had a quick look back (not exhaustive to be fair) and couldn't see an indication of what you'd tried to match ? What was it & when ?
Cheers.

Loyalty Lobby and probably other blogs had a CZ link for match to most statuses of DL, UA and AA. Turns out it was by invitation only, so you didn't miss anything and can go back on vacation

How long did it take to receive this answer from the moment you applied for status match? I sent my application on the 15th of July and so far, the same day I've only received this:

Dear Valued Customers,
Your email is well received. Thanks for getting in touch with China Southern Airlines North America marketing dept. We値l get back to you in 3-5 business days.

Special notice: Overseas Elite membership status match program is designed for invited customers. We understand you may get the info from families, colleagues or friends, but limited by the quality control we値l serve our invited customers at the first priority. If you are not in our current list please allow us a little longer time for process. We値l try our best to serve you as soon as possible.

As far as I know, later there was also other version of answer, indicating that promotion has been suspended, but the one I've received suggests that my application will be processed. I wonder, when may I expect to get any new information?

It's a Chinese airline so somewhat lost in translation. They will "serve you as soon as possible" meaning that they won't bother letting you know you didn't qualify based upon not being invited until they process everyone who was invited. That's the "Special notice: Overseas Elite membership status match program is designed for invited customers."

tropikey Jul 29, 2017 6:08 am

Doesn't sound good :-(
Nevertheless, I still have small, tiny hope...

danger Jul 29, 2017 6:52 am

Loyalty Lobby suggested filing a DOT complaint. The match was widely advertised on the CZ Facebook page without any caveats.

Could DOT do anything though? They can't even seem to regulate FF programs of US airlines.

Already done.

I'm also going to file a lawsuit in small claims court against them for not giving me free stuff
