Look at the case of TK. They ran a MATCH for years that was generous then out of the blue its gone this past week andbecame a challenge. :)

AB especially is finicky!

Email [email protected] and ask for a status match. If granted you will be given less than 1 month to complete your first flight, and then you will be matched for this and the next calendar year.

*A may get you only OWS unless you have GREAT flying history. My friend has STEP and got OWE.

Turkish is running a challenge, but other than that, I'm afraid no.

Avianca Brazil is worth trying, their promo ended Nov 30th but some accounts say that they got matched after that.

From what I've read in the past day or so, TK look like they may status match from AZ, too.

TK does not MATCH anymore they do a challenge. One tk flight in 90 days (I think) to keep it for a year and 15k miles for a second year of validity. Still fairly easy but not a straight match!

I have Turkish Elite Plus, and United Platinum.

I live in BKK, and travel frequently to NYC and LAX, and occasionally to Europe.

What would be the best overall program to try to do a status match with?

Received airberlin Gold status for matching with delta platinum. Fly AA about 5-7x a year for work so this will go to good use.

Email said gold card will arrive within 21 days

I got my Velocity Platinum matched to O6 Diamond - and as they took two months to process the match, and it didn't come through until January (ie. 2016) the card expiry says March 2018...That's a good status match!

Going to try and get a German address off a friend now, and get Air Berlin matched.

AB now matches US based members too, FWIW.

Yep, they don't match OW.

Status is valid 12 months from the match date.

I matched SK*S to Airberlin silver back in October 2014. I emailed them this morning with my Alitialia Elite+. How likely is it that they will match?

Any Star Alliance carriers still doing outright status matches from AA? Emailed Copa and Avianca BR hoping they will still accept despite being past the deadline.

Sure. Qantas gold to BMI gold to Virgin Australia gold.

Some programs only match once in a life time others are more free handed with their matches.

But generally its best to match when you benefit the most

It's unclear whether or not my Alitalia card expires in March or August 2016 due to an unclear email from them. My Airberlin status is good thru Feb 2017.

Alitalia cards expire in March the current Mille Miglia program expires in Aug. Complicated Italian program 😀

You could re match feom ab gold to a new bout of Alata till 2017 :) but hurry ends soon so if you get your AB card before Jan 31 go for it.

Has anyone been successful matching to AB without the physical card? (Want to match from O6 in my case)

I did a status match for a family member to AB with a screen shot of account but that account had major activity on it. I doubt you will fare well with a O6 accout. With ZERO activity. Why not match with the card you used to match to O6 or has that since expired?

I actually do have activity but it is only 2 flights. Getting 4 mores flights on it in early March.

And I matched to O6 Gold from A3 silver, doubt that will get me anything interesting on AB.
