Neither was I, and my points posted. HOWEVER, there's a clause in this year's promo that says you must be present for check-out. That wasn't there last year.

Duuuh, am I an idiot or what? I looked at the Park Inns across the U.S. on the map and somehow missed the one in Mechanicsburg, which is where I am planning to spend Memorial Day for three days and was trying to figure out which Radisson and Country Inns to choose. Thanks for the list which jump-started my brain.

Without the terms and conditions posted yet we are all just guessing. My best guess it though everything has to be done straight forward. You reserve the room under your Club Carlson number and you show up, check in and pay for room. This the the safest way to be sure you earn the points. You way could work but I just wouldn't risk too much $$ if it doesn't.

Just my two cents!

Now I have to decide if it's worth the four hour drive to Toledo to get a Park Inn. Decisions, decisions.

My take on it is this:

Club Carlson has given us a very generous promotion. They also have very liberal rules on how you can qualify, and have one of the most consumer-friendly policies around regarding points usage, balance, and transferring.

Their objective is to get _you_ to experience the product. Go check in, spend a weekend somewhere, and keep up your end of the bargain rather than trying to "game" the system.

By strange fate, I was already planning a trip to up-state Michigan, including a stop in Sault Saint Marie. This will be an easy win!

That's actually listed as Harrisburg PA I think. Not a long trek from DC so I'll go there too.
