to me it is 40k and not 60k-- need to pay a transfer fee for 10k , need to renew card and pay a fee for other 10k ---- anyone know of a "CLEAN " better deal than 40k us air c.c.--thanks

Called the 1-800-436-7961 line today and inquired about the status, agent said the system showed I had just been approved and should get the card in the mail soon....
Cheers

hah, how do you like that! I just Skype'd them from New Zealand... gave a phone number to locate my account, and the customer service rep said how can she help with my new account? Great... I said I haven't received the card yet but since the system said the decision will be made in 10 days, I'm calling to check the status. The CSR said the card is in the mail. Sweet!

When Do Miles Post?

Upon activating my new card to day I tried to move up the closing date but the csr told me that on the United card the bonus miles are deposited immediately upon the first purchase showing, not after the account closing date.

Called the Chase automated "check application status" number (800-436-7927). Pushed this number and that number as usual, but it now brings you to "an adviser" - instead of letting you know (after inputting your social security number) if your application has been approved or not.

Does anyone know of a new automated number where your application status (approved, denied, pending) can still be gotten without talking to a representative?

1-800-945-2006. Hit #, then 2, then 1, enter SSN - to check status of your application

I have had a bunch of chase cards and currently have the Sapphire Preferred (applied 5 1/2 months ago) and the MP Select Visa (from early 2011). I have always had to call and move some credit around. I have never been told they couldn't do that and approve it right away. I hope I didn't just take a credit report hit for nothing.

Step 2 is complete, I have been approved :D Oddly enough they gave me a pretty hefty credit limit as well (over 75% of the combined credit limit on my existing chase cards).

Now once I actually get the card and make a purchase hopefully I get the miles.

Thanks for the information.

Just used the number you gave. Same result with this phone number: after inputting the social security number no application status is given (it just gives: "to repeat this information..."; "to end this call..."; "for an adviser, press zero").

Not by my experience. The miles posted to UA after the billing cycle ended, not after first use. For me that was about 27 days difference, but I wasn't in a hurry to use the miles.

My MileagePlus home page even had banner ads with the 60K offer, after I transferred the one mile over.

Thanks for the info.

I played with the link in a post a few pages upthread a few times yesterday - did not remember exactly what manner I logged out and logged back in - the 60K offer popped up now when I logged in my MP account. This is interesting. I hope the offer is still good in late Feb as we are leaving for a very long Asia trip on Wed - have to wait till our return because I am 100% sure we would need to re-allocate CLs in order to get this one.

I just called as well and it appears my card was approved today, as I expected. ;)

Pretty surprised with how much credit Chase appears to be willing to give me between my two cards, guess its for the best though as I'll never even come close to the 50% mark. Now to make my first purchase and get my miles!

I'm only surprised because last week I cancelled my United MP Visa for which they were offering 5k anniversary bonus and 5k as retention bonus, but refused to waive the $95 annual fee. I'll take 50k and no annual fee over 10k for $95 any day :)

But will they give you the bonus on the Explorer version though? That part is an unknown until you get the card and after the 1st statement. Chase can be pretty mean in that it would let you have the card if you pass the muster of other criteria, then denies you the sign up bonus and sends you a letter which would arrive simultaneously with your 1st statement, to inform you the cruel fact. ;)

This why my wife is hesitating in applying for the UA MP Explorer card. She got the CO onepass + MC, with 50K miles, last January. And then she got the UA MP Select Visa in Arpil & the 50K mile bonus.

She just canceled the CO last week (no retention bonus offered) & will probably cancel the UA card next month. I'm guessing her odds of getting the MP Explorer sign up bonus this Spring are close to zero. But, stranger things have happened. Thoughts? She never has had an "Explorer"
card.

Further up thread reports of bonus awarded to someone already holding one of the previous flavors of UA MP cards.

Why do you think that? Where is an example of anyone not getting the bonus? I thought in every case so far that people received the bonus if they got the card. Did I miss something?
