Thanks for the information.
Just used the number you gave. Same result with this phone number: after inputting the social security number no application status is given (it just gives: "to repeat this information..."; "to end this call..."; "for an adviser, press zero"). I applied for the card on Thursday evening 1/12, got the "we will let you know" response. I currently have 4 other Chase cards (last application, which was successful, was about 6 months ago), so was not surprised. I tried the automated check-status line on Friday and Saturday, both times got the automated message saying the application was under consideration, and there's no additional info, etc. Today, Sunday, I just tried again @ 1-800-945-2006, hit #, then 2, then 1, then enter SSN. I just got "Congratulations, your application has been approved..." Woohoo! I was surprised by the next thing I heard on the recording: "Your account limit is $20,000" (actually, I'd prefer to keep that lower - but I can always call them and have it lowered, no problem). Then "By now, you should have received your account packet..." Well, I think they're being a little optimistic on that, but I assume that means it's in the mail and I should get it in a few days. It's all good. Based on my experience (I've had many, many Chase cards over the years, they have been very good to me) and from what I've read here, they seem to be trying hard to approve these cards. As long as you have your stuff together, I see no reason not to apply for this one. This is a great deal, folks, don't sit this one out. ^ |

Not by my experience. The miles posted to UA after the billing cycle ended, not after first use. For me that was about 27 days difference, but I wasn't in a hurry to use the miles.

Why would you ever want to lower your credit line?
It's nice to know that they're ready to extend that much credit to me by default (especially when I probably have a total of $20,000-$30,000 in credit available on my *other* 4 or 5 Chase credit cards) but I'll certainly never use anything close to that. YMMV. |

To add to my amazement, I just called Citi and it turns out my Citi ThankYou Premier was also approved today as well. So I got two new cards with 50K bonuses approved on the same day... quite a bit of credit approved in 24hrs! ^

I just called as well and it appears my card was approved today, as I expected. ;)
Pretty surprised with how much credit Chase appears to be willing to give me between my two cards, guess its for the best though as I'll never even come close to the 50% mark. Now to make my first purchase and get my miles!

I'm only surprised because last week I cancelled my United MP Visa for which they were offering 5k anniversary bonus and 5k as retention bonus, but refused to waive the $95 annual fee. I'll take 50k and no annual fee over 10k for $95 any day :)

Because I plan to apply for another Chase card in a few months, and want to have plenty of credit available for that one.

Yeah I would never lower it "just because". When I called to get my Chase Ink Bold and this Chase United card approved -- I had them just lower my Chase Sapphire card by 5k each time and was instantly approved. I have had a few chase cards within the past few months now because of this.
Let them lower it to approve you for other cards, dont lower it on your own. |

Why do you think that? Where is an example of anyone not getting the bonus? I thought in every case so far that people received the bonus if they got the card. Did I miss something?

Seriously? No one up thread has NOT received the bonus? I haven't read all the 500+ posts so I'm glad to hear this good news from you. I'll have her apply during her next "churn cycle" (quarterly) and report back.
Still, I took screen shots. :D |
delete----got confirmation from phone it is 50k with lst spend

YMMV, but unlike Amex and their vagueness or differing to someone else, I have found Chase to be very straight forward. (reply posted while you were in editing) Glad you are all confirmed now. |
[QUOTE=pcharles;17822550]You can just call them if you'd like. My wife's app was in pending mode and so when we called the recon line they said it was still in que, but they did confirm the sign up offer even before she was approved.
When I called reconsideration line as they pulled the "wrong" credit report up, I asked about the bonus miles after I was approved for the credit card. (same phone call) Rep said it was for 40k bonus. When I told him I applied for the 60k , he said if I were solicited and applied for 60k, I would receive it.. I was one of the very few who could never see the 60k banner even after transferring miles from continental to United several times and Ultimate rewards to united. When I used the copy and paste link, it took me two tries on the same page to see the 60k bonus so I was a bit worry. |
