Exclamation 83K AA Miles Update from Customer Relations!

Spoke to Customer Relations and they told me that the issue was being worked on and all employees in the Exec. Office got an email about it on Monday. They are trying to find out the root of the error and are working with AAdvantage Management and the VP and maybe even the CEO to get it solved.

I can't give you my rep's name and number, but call headquarters (1-817-963-1234), press 1 then 0 then ask to speak to customer relations. Maybe you can get something done!

"Get it solved"

Does that mean a potential of more miles beyond the 2500/2500 offer?

I did get the initial letter in my email last week from Cartera regarding the 2500 miles + 2500 miles offer and checking my AA shopping account today I had the following post:

Purchase Date Posted Date Description Purchase Amount Status Miles
8/10/2011 8/18/2011 Valued eShopping Member Mileage Compensation $0.00 PENDING 2500
8/10/2011 8/18/2011 Valued eShopping Member Mileage Compensation $0.00 PENDING 2500

Based upon what I've been reading I highly doubt there will be any additional miles coming my way and plan to return my hockey pucks to my local Verizon store.

I just spoke to Clark Howard's staff in Atlanta. Clark is a nationally syndicated consumer advocate. www.clarkhoward.com
He was not aware of the situation, but will look into it. I guess if he gets enough calls (404.892.8227) 10AM-7PM CST, he may make a few calls on our behalf. I know Clark gets resolutions for customers, especially from a company looking for investors/additional funding.

Short of Clark discussing it on the air, the staff suggested to blog, post, twitter and share with everybody.
For those of you who feel this is not being handled well by the trifecta, may I suggest to do so?

None of those TV guys will go on air and say AA.com was being evil and tried to cheat poor little guys from 8 million miles from small purchases when most of the other items on the site earns so little miles. Its a mistake., take you 2500 miles and be happy.

How long do we have to get a refund

My package says it must be returned in two weeks. We are almost there.
But due to the circumstances a breach of contract would seem to negate the two week cutoff. Any thoughts on this?

The CEO? This seems to be a bit of a stretch

Could be the CEO of the vendor that made the bad offer.

Really, do we need another thread of disingenous complaints about an obvous error that anyone with an IQ over 1 knew knew was an error from the start.

Edit: never mind, looks like mods have merged into the existing thread
