When you have to get from Buenos Aires to Barcelona and you choose this itinerary:
EZE-GRU-YYZ-ORD-PHX-SFO-YVR-NRT-BKK-(HKT)-BKK-FRA-LHR-BCN

1. You know you're in it when you are flying on an award ticket (20k) from BKK-GUM(today) and you get excited when your AVOD malfunctions. Ended up with 11k comp. miles for a total cost of only 9k RT.
2. You know you're in it when you're the only guy on the entire flight to request a comp for the malfunctioning AVOD. Everyone else just "took" it.

1. When a 5,000 bonus miles compensation is not enough for a Power Port deactivation because you love your AVOD so much

when you convince your pregnant wife to fly to this special hospital you know about that's the best for child delivery because you happen to already KNOW there are promos for hotels near it, and a good MR can be had when you fly there together, and when you fly back with the new child, you get sign up bonus miles for him or her

You read the news about Egypt, hear about all the evacuation points, and want to know how you can get those points, too.

-One of your staff, who is a novice traveler, is about to hit the road and you ask what hotel she is staying in. She answers the DoubleTree in XXX. Your mind races through FT threads and within seconds you get her to sign up for the HHonors program, register her for the "More Nights, More Points" Promo, and the Fast Track to Gold offer. You already know the rate for the particular hotel and can give said employee a ballpark fiqure of how many points she will earn and point out to her that she will have Gold Status when she returns. AND then you walk away feeling a rush that normally comes with a big score of points, but YOU get the rush by living vicariously through your staff. (Just Happened)

I work for Ford and this morning I was trying to enter the code for our Cargo Van into the system and it was coming back with an error. Turns out my warped mind was changing "CGV" to "CVG" because I was so used to the latter

-No one in the office wants to travel with you.
My Co-workers are dying to fly to LAX with me this year.
-No one in the family wants to travel with you.
My brother wants to go to SDQ and LAX with me. A couple of my friends want to party in IBZ this summer but want to fly in the pointy end with me.
-Your boss gives you the stink-eye as he slogs his way to the back of the plane.
I'd pay alot of money for that!
-A colleague walks into your office asking for advice on earning FF miles, but then after and hour of charts and diagrams complains that it is way too complicated.
It rly isn't that complicated.
-Your heart leaps with joy when you are at the gate and hear "Ladies and Gentlemen, we may be oversold....
I've only had one bump. I prefer to get to where I need to get to.
-You just don't understand people who fly non-stop.
When you need to get to a night club in LAX before last call and you get off of work at 5pm and you want the 762 J seats, AA 185 is your only option. And I loved it!
-You think "direct flights" (one stop, same flight number) are proof positive that airlines gouge customers.
Agreed!
-Your spouse thinks you are certifiably insane, but expects to share in your upgrades.

Girl I am "dating: You're insane with your flying!
Me: I won't complain about you buying 4 pairs of shoes a week and you can't complain about my flying.
Girl: Deal!

-when you check your frequent flyer accounts more than once a day
-when you are mortified at the thought of eating at a non-Idine/Rewards Network Restaurant
-when you refuse to buy something in-store because you can earn miles for buying it online through a mileage portal [for the same price, and free shipping, of course]
-when you refuse to buy a specific item online because you know you can buy a similar product online that will earn miles through a mileage portal
-when you refuse to buy ANYTHING from Amazon.com, no matter how good the deal, because they don't partner with any mileage portal
-when you purchase flowers online, and do so because getting a big mileage bonus is the primary motivator for buying flowers online
-when you have to lie to a seatmate about your Mileage Run
-when you're using inflight wifi to plan an MR, plan an award ticket, buy something through an online mileage portal, or other activity that would result in earning miles while on inflight wifi
-when asked for what you want for a Christmas gift, you tell them to either buy you miles, or better yet, have them give you cash so you can buy miles and use your own mileage earning credit card
-when you stay up until 2am central time so you can see your AA mileage account update

When you carry 3 cloth change purses with your wallet: one to hold airline FF cards, one for hotels, and one for car rental loyalty cards.
When you keep track of your CC renewal dates on a spreadsheet.
