You have to do SFO-SYD-AKL-SYD-SFO.

Suggest running it on Orbitz then when you get the dates plug into multi-city on the bomb. Pay attention to when you leave SYD to head to AKL for the bomb and should work.

sooo... should I stick to EK and get a paper ticket or QF/NZ w/ e-tix for the SYD/AKL sector?

Depends what you prefer/are looking for If you want EQM's, stick with NZ.

Can anyone print the fare rules from UAL.com as a PDF?

By the way, this can be used to fly out of LAX and back to SFO for the same fare. That is, LAX-SYD-AKL, AKL-SYD-SFO is fine.

Three roundtrips I'm crediting to BD. That's 34,800 status miles for me per trip. Should net me over 150k redeemable miles. For $4500, not bad.
