Excellent... thank you very much!

I will most certainly plan better from the start next year...

Also, new passport is on the way, so I may be able to take advantage of in two weeks...

Thanks again...

Note that you should grab as many inexpensive five or six segment trips as you can find now, as the price will only go up at this time of year.

Going for miles would take two long trips, CGK is the best considering distance and price. For example, CLT-ORD-NRT-CGK-NRT-LAX-CLT is $1036 out 11/1 return 11/3, 21679 miles. This trip is available most days. After two of these you would need a short domestic trip, figure $200 at most. So this plan requires about $2275 and seven days of travel. You can do CGK from FLL for about $800, so if you wanted to position to FLL then do back to back CGK runs, you would have what you need for around $1800.

But ... since you don't have a passport this won't work. Going for segments is a better strategy because 45K miles would mean 9 or 10 cross-country trips and cost around $2500 best case.

DFW-NRT-BKK-NRT-BKK out 12/1 return 12/3 is $736, 18580 miles. Be sure all flights have AA flight number for full credit.
You can go from TYR to HKG about $70 cheaper, if that is worth it to you.

Searching for large amount of EQS

Any way to search for large amounts of EQS on google flight? I see "up to 2." Any way to see 3+ segments.

I need 27 from Dec 1 - 31. Out of DFW/Tyler, totally flexible on dates, cheapest costs

If you search through ITA Matrix you can do this by using their advanced routing codes box and putting in
Code:
AA AA+
. This is equivalent to "two or more" on AA,
Code:
AA AA AA+
is "three or more", etc. More generally, every code separated by a space equals a segment, so you can do stuff like "AA BA AA+" or something like that if you wanted to. (Just a caveat, if you start chaining too much stuff together, their routing engine might timeout.)

"No Limit" is also an option there. However, if you want to exclude 1- and 2-segments (good idea if you know you don't want them), then use "AA AA AA+" as mentioned above. Basically:

AA = 1 AA flight
AA? = 0 or 1 AA flight
AA* = 0 or more AA flights
AA+ = 1 or more AA flights

Search step by step. If you ask for too much at once the search engine will time out.

Need 10k AA EQMs by the end of the year - advice?

Going to end the year at about 90K miles so looking to find the cheapest option for a flight that will give me 10K in miles. Is there an easy way to search for this or is this going to be trial and error?

Any tips are most appreciated

If you want 10000 miles in a single round trip, you need to look at destinations that are 5000 miles away. That rules out anything in the U.S. or Canada. Use google.com/flights and look at destinations that AA flies to in Asia or Europe, for example ICN, NRT, HND, TPE, HKG, FRA, CDG. Consider flying from TYR - TYR-HKG is nicely priced some days although more miles than you need.

Another choice is to look for short cheap day trips. For example, DFW-SAN-DFW is $109 on 11/9; if you can find four trips like this you should have what you need.

You can do this in two trips to the east coast, for example SFO-JFK-SFO day trip 12/6 for $261. Other days available the same week.
https://www.google.com/flights/?f=0#...016-12-06;a=AA

In one trip, if you have a China visa, SFO-LAX-PVG-LAX-SFO is $585 many days, for example out 12/3 return 12/4. HKG is also reasonably priced some days.

https://www.google.com/flights/?f=0#...016-12-06;a=AA

You can also look at European destinations like DUB, LON, CDG, AMS, FRA. Here's one to DUB for $766.

Need about 10K. From BOS, MHT or anything close by. Domestic is better.

Thanks a lot for the help.
