Thanks aktchi. I manage to book mine to NRT (my mistake on Nairobi not Narita), and have enough EQMs to make it. $1185, 12-28 departure at 620 am, returning 12-29 at 9p. Less than 2 hours on the ground in Tokyo, and shouldn't have to clear customs. I actually land in Dallas on the 29th before I take off in Tokyo.
SWUs are requested for the transpac flights, and I was assured once they cleared it'll back up for the domestics, but I'm at a fare code and status that the 500 are usually solid for me.

I'm hoping like most, there's an hour or so built into this flight, especially with the DFW origination. Fingers crossed on those SWUs, not sure if I'll be able to bring myself to follow through if they don't.

Help please! I posted a week ago but unfortunately wasn't able to take the suggested flight. I need 8.5k miles to qualify for Exec plat, currently I am platinum. been scouring google flights but think I need some fresh ideas/routes. thank you!

12/30 First Class ORD-DFW-FAT-DFW-ORD. GCMapper calls that ~4230 miles, which will be doubled for the discount F ticket to ~8460 MQM. Verify the exact mileage on AA.com. That's $951 and gets it done in one trip.
OR, you can do two coach trips, one on 12/29 and one on 12/30. Right now, that looks to total about the same price, maybe a little less depending on what combo you can put together. Some destination ideas to look at:

12/29: SJD (Mexico) flights from $468
12/30: SJU flights from $481
12/30: SFO flights from $361

Make sure to get the right connections (as needed) to add up to enough miles, which could increase the prices.
