Got the same aircraft change mail - just called. Since its only an aircraft change for ANA they can't change the booking - but if the flight times change they could change it.

I do not believe it {maintenance}
all this time for maintenance?? odd
all transpacific flight on air Canada and JAL {flat bed seat}
so i do not believe ANA story { scheduled maintenance } that long
ANA they have 787-8 with {flat bed seat}
ANA they changed business class not the aircraft to make it uncomfortable
airline company when they take aircraft out for maintenance for that long they bring equal aircraft. , but not like that never ever !!

, but then its just for me one of my flights and I wouldn't have tried to sleep anyway because of the late arrival time in Tokio ..now I just hope that the seat next to me stays free!

JAL from YVR is angle flat, along with their SAN and LAX-KIX routes. My guess is that ANA needs the aircraft for higher revenue routes & are rejiggering to accommodate new routes or increased frequency elsewhere such as LAX. A bit of a -- move to do so after tickets have gone on sale and not allowing reroutes on same or similar purchased craft.
