If its not a OTA glitch I personal always book direct with the airline - in case of a flight change later much easier to handle etc. and it gets aswell quicker ticketed.

Not in my case as well as others in here. I booked direct on ANA and was never ticketed. There were still people getting ticketed at least an hour after I made my reservation. However, an error fare is an error fare. East come easy go. Hopefully the next one I'll have better luck. Although I'm a bit disappointed since it seems like plenty of people will have their bookings honoured, and this is one I could have actually used.

They probably did some analysis. My only other guess is its worse for them if they allow changes so they picked whichever will have less financial impact. Changing of dates and routings, would make it to easy for more people to fly their itins. I was on when they went live. None of the days worked for me based on current plans and didn't want to risk being stuck with the ticket or paying a cancel fee.

Looks like we'll be on the same SYD-HND flight. Did you force ANAs website to fly from HND to LAX by using multi-city? Mine is SYD-HND|NRT-SFO-YVR ... kinda sux have to do land transfer HND-NRT

Just curious.. I was able to use the UA site to cancel my ANA held ticket that got stuck. Is there any hidden link anywhere on the UA site to purchase the ticket or complete the payment? Or I wonder if you could have the payment go through UA since they have a JV and it's still in a hold status?

Interesting idea! I just checked my PNR on UA.com; my flight details show up, but it says this at the bottom:

"This reservation is not ticketed.

We will hold this reservation until midnight Mon., Aug. 7, 2017 in Vancouver, BC, CA (YVR)."

I don't see any "hidden links" for finalizing the purchase, but I'll do some digging...

It's been 2 days and I'm actually still stoked about this: not the fact that I'm going to SYD, but the fact that I manage to snag cheap biz fare on a 5 star airline
