Maybe my math is wrong. But for a single transcon I see these options available.

lax-sfo-pdx-sfo-jfk-lax = 6661 miles at $132 = 1.98cpm
pdx-sfo-jfk-lax-sfo-pdx = 6661 miles at $132 = 1.98cpm

For a double.
pdx-sfo-jfk-lax-sfo-lax-jfk-sfo-pdx = 12222 miles at $213 = 1.74cpm

They are listed as a partner on AS website. But for elite qualification AS is including VX flights in their tier. So you only need 20k AS/VX flights for MVP, 40k AS/VX for MVPG, ect.

What are the PP lounges available on the various possible stops? I've noted below what I think, can anyone confirm?

PDX- AS lounge
JFK- Wingtips (t4)
BOS- The Lounge (Terminal C)
FLL- None
SFO- None (Maybe Cathay Pacific if willing to change terminals?)
LAX- VA Loft

Your math is right, I'm looking at weekend fares, which come out to my cpm.

Some of these runs include an AS flight to/from LAX. So for those they could use the Alaska Lounge at LAX.

LAS - The Club at LAS Terminal 3

Lax AS BR is in a completely different terminal from VX. Not worth the time.

I agree with you unless your run includes a flight that is being operated by AS which many of these do. So you might have to switch terminals anyways.

With that said I would still prefer the VX lounge. But its a option for those that have an AS operated flight using that terminal.

The three doubles I booked are for October. I'm supposed to go on a MR BOS to Hawaii this weekend via ANC and a business trip next week BOS-DEN via the west coast to knock out MVP but i'm not ready for that much flying just yet.

Since i have to fly all the way from BOS-PDX to pick these up I need to do as many as I can in a row. On hindsight, i should have picked a month and done a double every week and booked a 1 month AirBnB rental.

The fare routing rules for pretty much every PDX-LAX fare in economy class that VX has filed at the moment has the word "not" inserted, as in travel may "not be nonstop". In addition, there is no mpm and no limit on # of transfers. This has probably been coded differently by different booking engines, but it is what allows the east coast connection. Funny that VX site wasnt coded this way, it suggests VX might have one system for coding its fares on its website and then the fare sheet for the GDS (which other engines would pick up). That or the VX site has some other controls in place to deny such routings as a matter of course (ie, some safety check to preclude this).

I'm in your boat. I was just doing some calcs for my 75k requal.

I have 2 reverse MRs CAI-LAX on EK J/F r/t combos, a couple SAN-BOS AS runs, an EK CAI-HND F r/t and a couple of these. Puts me at 92k+

making MRs great again :P

For now. Runs later in the year might end up in T6 with the rest of AS.

I'm wondering when Admirals Club will allow reciprocal access for AS BR members flying on VX... I haven't seen it come up in the AS forum so far.

I still haven't been able to get one of these to purchase let alone ticket. Even after building in Priceline.
