i just booked 2

4/4-4/5 PDX-SFO-JFK-LAS-LAX
10/3-10/4 same

going to love getting that shower and food at the centurion lounge at SFO and LAS. if anyone is doing this run i can guest you into the amex lounge.

i may buy like 5 more to guarantee i get gold. its tempting to go for 75k. only comes out to like $1k.

Except more of a hotel expense for those of us on the east coast crazy enough to get involved in these

Are the stops even long enough? I thought the LAS stops were about 50 min and SFO you have to switch terminals and deal with TSA again.

I lost the SFO-JFK-LAX portion. Once I got to SFO I asked them to put me on the next plane to LAX so I can pick up the rest of my run as scheduled. I'm trying to get to MVPG 75k as well so this will slow me down a bit. Customer service at the SFO counter could have been better - no hotel for the night but they did give me a small travel credit that I'll use for another MR. I'll have to find out how VX is with ORC requests and give it a try, would be great if they came through with that.

This was my first time on VX and I found the inflight experience to be just fine - except the annoying safety video. Ordering on screen is neat but I still prefer AS overall.

We'll see how my run next week goes.

I learned SFO has a pay shower in international terminal outside security which may be an option for those that dont have access nor want to deal with TSA twice in the same 3 hour period. I may have to try that at least

I have Centurion Lounge access, but none of the layovers I see on my PDX-SFO-FLL-LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX trip have long enough layovers in SFO....only about an hour or so....got about 1.5 hours in LAX, but the Loft at LAX has no showers and the AC (Priority Pass) lounge that does have showers is in a different terminal. Where I could REALLY use the shower and where I actually have the most time is JFK, but the Priority Pass lounge there doesn't appear to have showers.

Yikes...dropping two transcons= not cool. My runs are not until October and they are factored into my elite qualification so ORC would be a non-negotiable if this were to happen to me...let us know how that goes. How much of the video programming was free? Enough for 4 transcons?? So do you even order the free stuff (like soda and water) on the screen (on-demand)?

About $100 more than midweek - September dates

https://goo.gl/flights/1vfB

https://goo.gl/flights/KVfq

Should be able to try other weekends by changing the dates of the query to similar date spans on other weekends

For instance October

https://goo.gl/flights/kO1d

Slightly cheaper at $212
