I had the same thing. Ended up deleting the app and reinstalling to fix. I hope VX's maintenance dept is more competent.

even deleting and reinstalling doesnt help. I did end up logging using my VX credentials and it let me look up by confirmation number, As long as it doesn't decide to put in my VX number it seems to be working.

Elevate Question

As a new member to the Elevate program, how many miles would I get for this 11,448 mile trip. I know Virgin is revenue based and this trip is only $142, but I am from Los Angeles, and reside in Thailand. I do the Singapore-Bangkok trip quite often and I know Virgin's miles can be redeemed on Singapore Airlines because partner awards are fixed and not based on paid ticket price.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regrettably not many - right now in the neighborhood of a couple hundred points. However, whether Elevate will stay revenue-based or switch to a miles-based program remains to be seen. You potentially would be better off crediting to AS instead of VX. For instance, my LAX-JFK-SFO-PDX-SFO-JFK-LAX turn is showing 505 points on VX but >11,000 miles on AS (assuming 100% earning).

Crediting to VX for this trip would be VERY unwise considering you'd be getting way more miles in the AS program which is mileage-based and likely the one to stick around long-term.

Owen61 and PDXPremier, THANK YOU, for your responses. I will credit to AS, which I still believe I can use on AA flights. I wish I could credit to my AA account...oh well.

I'm trying to book with Priceline but it just keeps hanging up. Is book with matrix the only other option?

I have booked on both Priceline and with the google flights app. In either case, use the VX smartphone app to select seats.

I really wish they'd allow AS fliers with status the opportunity to upgrade to "comfort plus" or whatever they call it. Maybe it will happen Jan. 9th - but I'm not gonna count on it.
I had the same problem - finally had to call VX - agent was able to select all 6 seats

VX will not status match now - they say there will be changes in Jan - I hope they happen before my monster VX trip - would be nice to enjoy AS status on VX

hopefully the agent wasn't paying attention. The app works to select seats.

Has anybody with VX gold booked with their VX ffp and called in to change it to AS MVPG ffp?

I did. But I didn't call in. I booked the trip, put in my VX ffp to choose the seats, added VX's twitter, DM-ed them my AS MVPG ffp, and they changed it for me.

The seat selection stuck.
