For each request, please include the following information:

Departure Airport:
Miles Needed:
Required Spend or Maximum Budget (choose one, and state the value):
Available Travel Dates:
Required Metal or Codeshares Okay:

Route(s) You've Already Searched:
Do you have a Chinese Visa (Yes/No)?

For each response. Please quote the original request. DO NOT START A NEW THREAD.
There are many good fares to China (PEK or PVG). If you have a Chinese visa, these options will be provided.

If your requested PQM is in a few thousand, please give a more accurate amount. You will get fewer options with a roundup number (eg, 5000 instead of 4830; IAD-SFO nonstop will work for the latter.)

For a single trip, something like this could work:

UA:$675 SFO-HKG nonstop 13828PQM
Sat 20 Jan SFO-HKG
(16h overnight in HKG)
Mon 22 Jan HKG-SFO
https://goo.gl/flights/69go

-or-

UA:$707 SFO-GUM (via HKG) 15230PQM
Fri 19 Jan SFO-HKG-GUM-HNL-SFO
https://goo.gl/flights/MW1U
This one ends up being cheaper, since it doesn't require a hotel.

Both of these cost less on Mon/Tue.
Awesome, thanks so much! Never thought I'd fly to Guam, maybe I can see about the famous United Island hopper too.

Any ideas for Europe? My wife would prefer shopping in Paris or Milan/Florence as an excuse on this MR....

If you want BIS then I would look at EZE in Biz as a destination. You will get the PQM and it is kinder to the body, and you can even enjoy some time there.

UA:$6201 DEN-EWR-SIN-DEN in Business 23328PQM(2017) + 19264PQM(2018)
Fri 29 Dec DEN-EWR
(5h47m in EWR)
Sat 30 Dec EWR-NRT-SIN
(11h30m in SIN)
Mon 01 Jan SIN-LAX-DEN
https://goo.gl/flights/r1w4
NRT-SIN is on NH. First flight is recliner, rest are all **lay-flat**.

Seems to be roughly the same price as DEN-SIN-DEN, so it would be great if this could work for you. You can also try other cities for your first stop. Good luck!

UPDATE: on second thought, it might be cheaper to just buy the miles, as suggested earlier. I'm thinking it would be about half this price. Next year's miles can be had for a lot cheaper than this method.
Thank you both!

I haven't bought Premier Accelerator miles before. Does the cost of the ticket matter for purchase of them? Any recommendations for a routing I would use to do this?

Hi Travel Experts,

I just received a last minute work trip that will put me 2000PQM from 1K status. Any ideas on how I can pull that off on short notice during the holiday season? At 10,000 PQMs, I didn't want to even try but 2000 seems within reason. Thanks for your help as I am new to the game.

Departure Airport: IAH or OKC->Have to be there 12/25
Miles Needed: 1989 PQMs
Required Spend or Budget: PQD is a nonissue. Budget is around $500.
Available Travel Dates: Dec 21-23; Dec 26 to end of year (I'd prefer a quick turnaround)
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: United or any *A that will earn the needed PQMs

How about making a night out of this for $407 flat (after changing to Economy from Basic Economy in United checkout):

This is cheaper than Premier Accelerator, but by no means cheap:

(1h45m in ICN)
Thu 28 Dec ICN-SFO-IAH-BWI

Personally, it would be hard for me to spend this kind of money for Platinum.

BTW, the answer would have been different a month ago...<$500 out of EWR. But even that was a fluke. In the future, I would suggest getting down to ~5000PQM the end of Nov, to give yourself some reasonable options.

Don't forget to pay the extra +$50 to get out of Basic Economy (totals price above). If you can SDC to IAH-IAD nonstop, it's still 2468PQM so that may be a way to speed things up.

Good luck!

GF shows a cheaper option with a 0h42m connection at YVR, but it's not bookable as it is impossible. Will update if I find something better (but not likely).

A bit of a surprise... just had a last-minute trip DEN-EWR-DEN for work and bought 8000 PQM on your advice. So, now I've got a much different situation:

Departure Airport: DEN
Miles Needed: 15,851 PQM
Required Spend or Budget: No spend needed
Available Travel Dates: Dec 28-31
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: Any for PQM

What do you think would be a good call with this? Happy to combine any BIS and purchased miles or go all-in with purchase.

Wow, that changes things significantly. One I see immediately:

UA:$1177 DEN-SIN 19647PQM (w/ 500mi min)
Thu 28 Dec DEN-SFO-LAX-SIN
(3h10m in SIN)
Fri 30 Dec SIN-SFO-DEN
https://goo.gl/flights/ncTp
W-fare outbound, S-fare inbound. Similar pricing on adjacent dates, so might be worth looking to check for R availablity.

Even with your recent purchase, the total is a fraction of the $6k you would have had to spend on a J-fare DEN-SIN.

This one is much faster, but unfortunately a bit short:

UA:$1243 DEN-ICN 13262PQM W-fare
Tue 26 Dec DEN-SFO-ICN
(1h45m at ICN)
Wed 27 Dec ICN-SFO-DEN

Required Spend or Budget: $600 (Budget)
Available Travel Dates: DEc 22-28th.
Required Metal or Codeshares okay:

Assuming $600 is budget, not required spend, here's an option:

UA:$509 BOS-ANC 8881PQM
Tue 26 Dec BOS-DEN-ANC-SFO-BOS
https://goo.gl/flights/JSVE

Also, FYI, the "Required Metal or Codeshares okay" section is to let people know if you need to be flying on UA metal (for example, if you only want to book a trip where you can use an ETC, or if you are doing a status match that requires you to fly on UA metal, etc), or if codeshares are okay, as long as you get PQMs, etc.

Denver to HNL through LAX seems to be the easiest right now. Was seeing less than $800 RT last night.
