Where you able to price it with any of those xfers?
While the fare routing rules allow at least 2 xfers stateside (incl HNL ), I can't get it to price. Only the straight BOS-SFO-SEL routing seems to work for that low fare.
ITA my return flight is ICN-SFO-EWR-BOS

No, it's not the best mistake fare ex-USA of all time.

Had DEN, IAH, ORD, IAD and EWR all show up for a connection on the return.

Via the matrix I just priced out BOS - EWR / JFK (D fare on the PS flight) - SFO - ICN

Trying to get it to actually price out now. This requires an overnight in New York which may be beneficial to some

Ticket receipt says "Refundable".
Not sure about the half refund your inquiring about. The fare is listed as a r/t fare.

Cool including p.s.!
For West Coast (and most other) based folks it'd be great to have a < 24hrs transfer on the way to/from SFO, eliminating the need to arrive in BOS the day before the departure and v.v. on the way back.

The "stupid bloggers" picked it up from FT, with a h/t to FT. I guess that is the way the blogging world works now a days. Read the FT Good Deals thread, and just blast any good deals you see there on your blog

Yes - success!

Okay you can take the 530 or 7pm BOS - EWR, overnight to the 6am JFK - SFO, connect to the same day SFO - ICN and go from there.

Final routing for me:

BOS - EWR/JFK - SFO - ICN - SFO - EWR - BOS

Those Avios from NYC back to RDU (where I'll live by then) are quite handy if I happen to miss my EWR - BOS flight

In order to price it:

BOS - EWR
JFK - ICN
ICN - SFO
SFO - BOS

All on google.com/flights - select First (it'll map JFK - SFO into a D fare which is the same 175% earning domestically as an A fare). For the SFO - BOS portion it'll give the option of routing via IAD, EWR, DEN, ORD so anyone who wants to drop the last segment and stop in one of those cities should consider that

EDIT: And it's ticketed so this works and tickets

Doesn't work because there isn't an HNL - ICN flight on UA and the transpac portion has to be on UA. Prices to $7k by putting you on the KE HNL - ICN flight

Wait, you're telling me that the expert bloggers who know everything didn't find this deal themselves?

Can't seem to get the Tokyo stopover without the price jumping to ~$5200. Using multi-city on ITA. Any tips?
