It is a contracted local lounge. You will get direction/pass when you check in.

So I've found EWR-ATL-PIT-MSP-NRT-SIN...SIN-NRT-DTW-EWR for $736 and about 21,300 MQMs. However, there seems to be tight connections in PIT and NRT both around 45min. Dates are May 26-29th...anybody know how to get around this with longer connections so I'm not sprinting between gates? THANKS!

It is a combination of many factors:
  • Busing from plane to CBP.
  • Waiting for luggage even with the priority tag.
  • Lineup at GE kiosk, and kiosk users who have no idea what they are doing.
  • Walking around the bowels of LAX from bus to CBP to Luggage to custom with old, dim lighting and poorly up-kept corridors
  • Getting from post custom back to a terminal for onward connection.

Are you duplicating the ITA route exactly on DL.com?
There are other possible reasons, but that is most common IME.

Just booked EWR-ATL-PIT-MSP-NRT-SIN...SIN-NRT-DTW-EWR May 26-29. ~21,200 MQMs AT $736, BUT subtract a $410 voucher for me. Total cost $326. LOVE IT!!!

Book quick, it is posted on some blogs out there. People that read these blogs are the people who call the airlines. Although this may not be a fare mistake, it'll bring attention to the fare price and that price will be gone!

Rules have just changed on the fare to require 3 days.
So you can no longer do a quick turn and must stay a day - so I'm told by DL.

Tiger Airways and JetStar Asia are LCCs with more flights out of SIN than Air Asia, if memory serves. Booking early is important with all (as their "Y"-level fares have really gone up), and it also helps to be light on bags. SIN-HKT (Phuket) is a busy air route, but lotsa other choices exist.
