I just booked one for myself on the US Manila-Phone (I know, no phone - but it's NOT a mistake fare) ... $590 ai for the return connecting in PHL outbound and CLT returning.

I can't imagine that they'd try such a move on this fare, since it's on their website and phone system.

US also had fares like this a few years ago into LAS from the east ($500) and FPO from SFO ($600). You can find a REALLY long thread under something like "LH - 89000 miles for $600" if you search hard enough.

If you want to fly on UA instead of US w/ this great fare, I just found it on US website with the F avalibility on May 2/3 on the non-stop. It also looks like it's available many other days for $564 AI, when you look on UA it's over 1k. Hope this helps someone.

Now available from SFO, too.

I wish I had know this yesterday, since I hate OAK. Oh well, it will be good preparation for flying US Air.

Got me thinking. How much would an US domestic A class fare earn on LH? On their site it states 300% and 1500 min, which would mean 900 miles extra for the short segments compared to 600 for BD... Have no status with LH though and prefer BD for redemption options.

I don't agree with you that this isn't a mistake fare. What's your basis for that statement when the competing UP fares are twice the price and there isn't a "UP Fare Sale" posted on US' site?
Do you think they will sell a F seat for $10 more than coach? As in this example for a departure on March 29:

Coach: $269
First: $279
6:00 AM San Francisco, CA
3:50 PM Atlanta, GA
183 / 610
Stops: PHX 6 h 50 m

BTW - this is much more widespread than has been posted. E.g., SEA, PDX, etc to ATL.

Fare pulled from PL - it does not show any US flights whatsoever. I guess US did not like my email in which I was complaining of their hidden booking fee on their website vs. PL being cheaper.

Still available at Orbitz, Exp, although about 10$ higher now.

It's still there, they've had lots of time to fix it.
Bookable on usairways.com.
Bookable with phone agents.

I don't ever claim to know why airlines do what they do, but US has had similar First promos in the past, advertised in several ways including their own magazine.

Well... Obviously, Yes.

Other than the "Up" fares, what's your basis for such certainty about it being a mistake?

There is still lots of availability SEA-ATL in F for $590ai. If anyone can help me to figure out how to jam some stops into this MR, I'd be most appreciative. Using multi-city on usairways.com screws up the fare.

Daddy doesn't usually roll through the ghetto of the Star Alliance and could use a nudge in the right direction.

i didn't have any luck getting it to price multi-cities properly on usairways.com, and i pulled the trigger pretty quick on this, so i didnt take the time to try orbitz or expedia or the like. i would just try multi-city on one of those sites and see what it gives you.

Used Orbitz to get multi-city to work. Basically searched for one ways with multiple stops but would not show those combinations on RT fares. Took a while to choose the specific routing I wanted, since it was pricing out much higher, but price dropped at the final pricing screen Was unable choose the flights I wanted on PL, even though it would have saved a few more $$$

No matter what I do to this fare, whenever I add more than one stop it breaks the fare. However, I did find a SEA-PHL-ATL-PHL-SEA run for 6070 BIS times the UA 150% fare bonus yields 9105 EQM (.064/EQM) for the $590 ai fare. Debating.

How do you get expedia to cough up this detailed fare/routing rule?

Not sure what the V means, but its an A fare basis (restricted first class) that was a specific routing that allows only two transfers. The first in either
PHX or LAS and then another stop in one of the other cities. There is a specific routing rule 300 that limits the number of transfers although the fare rule allows 3.

If you could post how to get this rule from expedia it would be helpful.

Never mind.

I pulled up the rules.

Some of the west coast cities allow only one stopover.

Is the no BIS miles thing also true for LH itins?
