seems like one of the legs to be in L class:

"4Air France:
Mileage may be earned on Air France-coded flights operated by Air France or any SkyTeam partner. Mileage credit is not applicable for fares booked in L, N, O, G, or X class, for Air France travel via boat/ferry service, or for flights to/from Havana, Cuba; Tehran, Iran; or Damascus, Syria."

Don't forget the 200INTL code on Orbitz for International destinations. There's a couple ROM hotels that come in at ~$40 per night all-in for 5 nights.

Not a bad 5 day vacation. $300 airfare, $200 hotel.

Depends on what is available I guess. I thought the flights I found went into L, but I might have been wrong.

I actually didn't see it on Orbitz for the same dates I ended up buying on airfrance.com.

OK, I found the low fares but for me it's not as great a deal as I thought since I have to get from MCO-JFK in addition. It comes out to a cost of about $430 all in for the dates I can go and that will get me about 9240 MQM with DL, which is the airline where I need the miles, since only the JFK-CDG and the MCO-JFK miles will count. I can get a $560 NW fare MCO-HNL RT that will yield about 10,500 MQMs and with which I have a lot more flexibility in terms of weekends as well as weekdays. So it comes out to 4.65 cents per mile for FCO and 5.33 cents per mile for HNL. The difference for me is just not worth all the customs hassles, language differences, potential weather variability, etc. Probably great for Air France/KLM FFers and those with a desire to go to Rome but only borderline for me.

P.S. I've been to Italy each of the last three years so Rome doesn't even interest me as a new place to explore for a day or so layover, which is often something I do even though it technically violates MR principles.

ITA prices some fun routings (eg JFK-CDG-PRG-LYS-FCO, FCO-LYS-STR-CDG-JFK) with 4 segments each way... sadly airfrance.us multicity seems broken and Orbitz won't price these itineraries.

Anybody know what L class on an AF-coded, AZ-operated intra-European flight posts as for CO or NW?

I bought Nov 22 returning Nov 25th with four friends on airfrance.us. Looks like the TATL flights in Q I will get full DL EQMs, but have to throw out miles on the CDG-FCO. nonetheless, always wanted to get to Rome and the fare is pretty good.

Any suggestions for hotels would be welcomed. Oh, and on one of the bookings I inverted last name and first name but I am holding off calling AF so others' can take advantage of the fare

If a US national, I wouldn't even call about such a situation -- better to just show up and have them pull up your itinerary by its record locator before the passport swipe or after the passport swipe fails to bring it up.

Can this be bought on another website other than airfrance.com ?

Canadians cannot purchase tickets online for flight departing the US and the Canadian Air France ticket office is closed...
