Happy 2018!

Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

A few requests for posting in the thread:
  • When posting 'Good deals' fares: please post the city pairs/airport codes and pricing in the body of the post and not just in the post title as it isn't visible for those reading it on mobile devices.
  • Note that you can subscribe to this thread: go to "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread and click on "Subscribe to this thread".
  • This is not a fare request thread. Any fare requests will be deleted.
  • This is not a how to book a fare thread.

UA - LAX to ORD (or vice versa) for $143 on certain days (same day turn around possible) works out to 4 CPM which IMHO is outside the purview of a great MR deal:

ORD to LAX:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...660;a=-NK;eo=e

LAX to ORD:

https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...531;a=-NK;eo=e

These book into G so you'll be earning 100% PQM.

Safe Travels,

James

Good Deals to Select Asian Destinations from Europe for 4-5 CPM (with fast turns)

Found this gem on flights (other days are available for slightly more):
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...8-VIECDG0OS417

Here are some other great deals to other Asian destinations from CDG:

CDG - SIN for 430 EUR on LX:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...9-ZRHCDG0LX632

CDG - PVG for 415 EUR on LX/LH with quick turn around:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...-FRACDG1LH1026

CDG - PEK for 406 EUR on LX with a quick turn around:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...7-ZRHCDG0LX638

Also AMS to PEK on SK for 444 EUR on fast turn around:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...6-CPHAMS0SK549

MXP to PEK on SK for 444 EUR on fast turn around:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...-CPHMXP1SK1685

MXP to PEK on AF/KL for 429 EUR on quick turn around:

https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...-AMSMXP0KL1633

I'm sure there are plenty of other pretty good MR deals available now. One thing to note for the *A partners listed above is that they should earn you 100% PQM on UA's program since they award full milage on SAS and LH Group airlines on most revenue fare classes.

Waived for Silver, Gold and Platinum...if credit card spend meets/exceeds $25,000 but NOT for Diamond Medallion, which requires $250,000 on an AmEx/Delta co-branded credit card.

Otherwise they require $15,000 MQD's (not including taxes & fees) so some heavy spend or creative Mileage Runs

If you're waived due to $250,000 cc spend, Congratulations!

Just booked YYZ to LAS on WestJet in July for $369 CAD. Tons of availability from now until September. I don't think I've ever seen a fare to Vegas out of YYZ this low--great flight times, too!

Yes the waiver is for Silver/Gold/Platinum because I can spend $25k by the end of the year....the new rules on DM are a little crazy but I guess that discussion goes on another board

I think at best I will be getting to Gold this year, don't foresee a lot of traveling as compared to past years

UA's got a few dates available for MSY - SFO for $110 USD in basic economy:

https://www.google.ca/flights/#searc...Y0UA2134;a=-F9

For $160 USD you can book it in normal economy (earning some 4.2 CPM which technically is a milage run and arguably a good one if you're based out of MSY). This seems to be only good ex-MSY.

Also Spirit's got a deal on day trips (i.e. 1 day turn around) to FLL out of MSY - $61 USD return:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...2,FLLMSY0NK665

Obviously not useful for milage accumulation (other than perhaps CC points) but likely cheaper than other forms of transport to Florida.

That is all.

Here's a decent deal (3.5 CPM) out of ORD:

ORD - PEK on UA/NH for $515.01 USD:
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...RD0UA882;a=-MF

Per UA it should earn ~ 13,000 miles. TWOV should apply since you're arriving into PEK from the US and leaving PEK to Japan on NH.

Safe Travels,

James
