Best deal looks to be BOG SAL CUN RT for $349. It actually prices out at $340

Bud, any idea if it matters what kind of Visa? I've seen these promos before but I've always gotten the feeling (and my Spanish isn't perfect so fine print is tough) that it had to be a Bancolombia Visa or whatever they sponsor.

No I don't think so. It is like Visa Martes where you get 20% off dinner if you pay at a participating restaurant and pay with any Visa card. It is sponsored by Visa and nothing to do with the Avianca Visa cards specifically.

By the way, those banks are Davivienda, BBVA and Citi

Here is another Avianca deal. They are currently offering Bogotá to London direct for $699, but as with many of their deals, it is actually cheaper than the promo price. I can see it for $587 which is just £378. Never in my 6 years in Colombia have I seen it so cheap to get home. It's on the A330, at least it was for my dates that I checked

Happy flying

SeaPort Airlines offer great fares for flightseeing in 9-seater Cessnas. Bonus: None of the seats are close to a restroom.

SeaPort flies to EAS airports, plus one international destination: San Felipe, MX.

I've booked a trip from Sacramento to San Diego for USD 91, including checked luggage. That is less than WN's price, and there seems to be good availability. Routing: SMF-VIS-BUR-SAN with a technical stop in BUR. If you have time on your hands and love flightseeing in a small prop, you may be able to do SMF-VIS-BUR-IPL-SAN for just 50 Cents more. But I don't know how to get that ticketed.

With SeaPorts No-BS program, ever twenty paid sectors net you one free sector.

Wow. I had hoped that WN's arrival would bring lower fares to Houston. While these are maybe lower than UA at particular moments, they're not really that impressive. I'd hoped that what with both Vivaaerobus and Southwest in the Mexico market that flights would be cheaper than those I regularly find for the same destinations from New York.

I think they are testing the waters, and I don't think Viva's business model is likely sustainable at $150-$170 RT. Their MEX slots suck so I would imagine that is why that is the cheapest.

I compared BZE fares versus United, and they are less than half. This is certainly a step in the right direction.

Agreed. The BZE fare is reasonable. MBJ and CUN aren't great. Maybe my expectations were too high. The debate about international flights from Hobby went on for so long, and UA threw such an incredible stink about it, that I thought it might be better. Plus, I also forgot Spirit. That's a lot of airlines flying direct to Mexico.
