Quite right.

I might have issues with Air Zimbabwe...but SA is every bit as good (in all respects) as any other major international carrier.

Can we be not quite so distractable? Yes, SAA is an excellent carrier and their coach is very comfortable compared to US legacy carriers (especially CO, ugh!), but the first poster to mention "S.A. Airlines" was clearly referencing Saudi Arabian, not South African. Even though s/he was using the standard abbreviation for SAA (thus using it wrongly), it was clear from the context that s/he was talking about SV, not SA.

AUS-LGA 192ai, 3106 miles connecting in IAH, 6.18cpm. Valid until EOS. Tons of availability. Same-day turns to be had on Tues/Weds/Fri, some Saturdays. $1 more on Thursday.

UA only (CO codeshares). CO-marketed flights are 294.

Easily $60 below what I'd normally consider a decent fare on this route, so I wouldn't expect it to last long.

Can also connect in ORD on the outbound for $193, both ways for $200. 5.8cpm.

When in August? I'm not seeing anything...

The best I am seeing is $137 ORD-NYC on AA

DL/AA/CO/UA - NYC-ORD for $109ai RT

Yes, I noticed this too -- however, there are some limitations...
  • Low fare is $109 NYC-ORD on Delta, but is Delta Connection RJ both ways
  • Going BOS/NYC-ORD is $125/129 RT on both UA/CO and AA
  • The AA fares appear to require a 3-day stay
  • Most avails are Tues/Wed or Sat
  • Best avails are in Sept/Oct
  • Delta fare is possible as OW for $54

Its a good fare, especially for the route. CPM is about 7.5. But there are drawbacks.

Red face AUH-DUB-ORD-LHR-AUH for $1400

Hi all

Although seems to be expensive, if I am AA PLAT, should I consider my miles bonus for the CPM?

If I am calculating correctly, this flight represents ~15000 miles, and with the PLAT bonus some 30000 miles? that puts the CPM to 4.6.

This is economy class S with a EQM of 0.5

Have a good day ^

No, generally fares seem to get shown here based on elite EQM. (E.g. with 500 mile min segment bonuses, but without any RDM bonus.)

AZ to Beijing

AZ's current fares to PEK in premium economy (Classica Plus) are sometimes a good bargain fiven that the majority of economy prices are restricted and with PE at lower price you get full flex^ But be sure to check your rules before booking, some fares do not allow no show.

To see how good is your buy see the full flex Y fares from PRG/ WAW (more than USD 6,000+++ for Y compared to USD 1,500 ai in A from many European cities)

ORK/DUB-MEM, KL/DL, Sep-Oct 11 / Jan-Feb 12, 350 EUR +

Hi all,

There is a very nice deal available ex-Ireland (Cork and Dublin at least) to Memphis with KLM/Delta. Wide range of dates in Sept.-Oct. 2011, Jan.-Feb. 2012. Starts at 350 EUR all inclusive, sample dates 08 Feb 12 -> 15 Feb 12 ex-Dublin. Book on www.klm.ie

Not sure about fare classes or elite mileage, as I'm not familiar with KLM.

Tried various other US destinations but unsuccessfully, only seems to work for MEM. Post your successes here if otherwise

Cheers,
J-

Not your preferred airlines, but Spiri Airlines has wide availability in July for US$32 a/i one way tickets Atlanta to Myrtle Beach.

If you only need a swimmsuit, you have a R/T to the ocean for $65

Available directly from their own website: http://www.aireuropa.com/en/default.html

LGW (via Madrid) to JFK or MIA from 226 (Miami) or 235 (JFK). Best availability in October/November. Note that after you select the dates, the prices seem to drop further.

(See example dates above)

I can't use this, so can't see what fare code these book in - but it's a great fare and presumably will earn miles in Flying Blue (if not other ST programs). Though a separate thread says it books in P which apparently doesn't earn anywhere...
