I stayed in La Condesa 4--8 October, also was in Roma Norte, San Angel, and Chapultrpec Castle areas. During that time, I didn't see any sign of protests, demonstrations or strikes.

By the way, the area around Parque de Mexico is awesome, there is lots of good street activity, food choices, shopping, etc. Highly recommended and well located.

I was also oblivious to the President's speech at the Zocalo; I had no idea.

Good to hear you avoided all the chaos and had a great time. Most of it was located in Centro and on Reforma, as usual.

In addition to the previous posted blockade, another one will cut off basically all access to and from Mexico City on all the major routes leading into the city. From Puebla, Quer�taro, Toluca etc.

These blockades start at 9 am. This might be the biggest blockade the city has ever experienced.

"Mexico City and several states are preparing for a week of protests and blockades . Two groups, truckers and agricultural producers, have announced blockades to demand specific measures , while in the State of Mexico , water purification plants are already maintaining road closures.

Transporters plan new mega-blockade

After failing to reach an agreement with the federal and local governments, the Broad Force of Transporters (FAT) has unleashed a massive blockade in the capital . Their goal is to pressure for a fare increase and a fuel bonus .

The union is demanding an adjustment to standardize its fares , which currently range between 6 and 8 pesos , with those of the State of Mexico, where fares range between 5 and 16 pesos .

Meanwhile, the agricultural sector also escalated its protests. �lvaro L�pez R�os, leader of the National Union of Agricultural Workers (UNTA), warned that if there is no favorable response from the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Agriculture by Monday the 27th , they will begin a national mobilization next Wednesday the 29th.

The central demand is the establishment of a guaranteed price of 7,200 pesos per ton of corn . L�pez R�os stated that, if there is no solution, �corn farmers from the Baj�o region, Guanajuato , Michoac�n , and Jalisco will block toll booths and major highways, and are considering marching to the nation's capital with agricultural machinery.�

The leader stated that a previous national strike was not enough to "sensitize the current Federal Government" and that, in addition to a fair price, they are seeking the exclusion of basic grains from the USMCA .

Blockade at Puente de la Concordia : Mexico-Puebla Highway, near the Puente de la Concordia

Alternative route: Texcoco Avenue

Closure on Ermita Iztapalapa : Calzada Ermita Iztapalapa, intersection with Eje 6 Sur. Traffic is closed in both directions.

Road alternatives: Guelatao Avenue, Eje 10 Sur and Perif�rico

Protest on Avenida M�xico : Near the Santa Martha bus stop. Demonstrators are blocking traffic.

Alternatives: Texcoco Avenue and Eje 10 Sur

Blockades in the State of Mexico prevent access to Mexico City

Simultaneously, owners and workers of water purification plants in the eastern part of the State of Mexico began blockades on main avenues in Chimalhuac�n , Chicoloapan and Nezahualc�yotl .

The protest is due to the lack of water supply via tanker trucks, which has forced them to close their businesses and leave thousands of families without service, a situation they attribute to the closure of wells as part of Operation Flow.

Road authorities recommend that motorists:

• Plan alternate routes in advance
• Stay informed about the status of the roads
• Consider increased travel times
• Use public transport whenever possible"

Truckers on their way to the Zocalo due to the disappearance of a fellow trucker. Expect delays. They're coming from the state of Mexico.

The blockades continue. Another big one is scheduled for November 7th.

Also, there's nationwide protests and marches that will take place on November 15th, including in CDMX regarding the recent assassinations of a Mayor and several police officers. I'll post about that in a separate posting when I can find legitimate information.

This might be the largest protest in recent years in Mexico. Many things recently have happened that is fueling anger amongst the nationals, including an assassination of a local mayor.

The CDMX Z�calo will be the focal point and basically every town hall throughout Mexico.
