I stayed in La Condesa 4--8 October, also was in Roma Norte, San Angel, and Chapultrpec Castle areas. During that time, I didn't see any sign of protests, demonstrations or strikes.

By the way, the area around Parque de Mexico is awesome, there is lots of good street activity, food choices, shopping, etc. Highly recommended and well located.

I was also oblivious to the President's speech at the Zocalo; I had no idea.
