I'm not connected to BoA. I just pick the cheapest ATM location near me, that accepts my card. But I only withdraw from the ATM once per month. There's some really cheap ATM fees at banks that do not accept my card unfortunately.

Any recent updates on lounges or opened airside restaurants? Earlier posts from May hinted a lounge and several airside restaurants were in the works.

Whelp...... very frustrating, disappointing, irritating, etc... AA has completely done away w/ our CLT-TQO & TQO-CLT flights for our April 2025 & our Aug 2025 trips.

Both arrivals were on a Saturday. One departure was on a Monday. The other departure was on a Wednesday.

They auto-rerouted us either through MIA or DFW then to/from CLT (i.e. ROC-CLT-MIA-TQO) (or, TQO-DFW-CLT-ROC). I think not !!

Back to CUN we go.

Luckily our CLT-TQO in December is still a go. I had already switched our TQO-CLT departure over to CUN-CLT going home in December since our layover in CLT had changed to 6 hours !! Going home via CUN-CLT gives us an "only" 4 hour layover in CLT.

Not sure why they would eliminate the CLT flights so soon after they started (in late March 2024). Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

The locally published, English-language Yucatan Times reports that the airport hasn't lived up to expectations. A year after opening, passenger numbers are not what the various airlines hoped. In the hype and frenzy of opening, everyone jumped into the game, but there still wasn't/still isn't enough demand to fill all those seats to TQO.

I think the headline could be misleading. How many of the pullouts might be seasonal suspensions anyway? In any case, I'm sorry to hear any negative news about a new airport just a year after it opened.

United and several other airlines are backing out of the new airport in Tulum

Thanks for the article !! At least I now know that I don't have to keep checking to see if that route came back.

Such a bummer, though. Now we're back to a 4 hour drive to Mahahual from CUN instead of a 2 hour drive from TQO.

I suspect that people have realized that TQO is absolutely out in the middle of nowhere. I mean, it takes at least 30 minutes or so just to get up to Tulum, then longer to get to hotels/resorts.

The former federal administration seems to have been interested in infrastructure projects -- maybe where they didn't make total economic sense -- and gave the military the airport projects. Maybe some if we build it, they will come approach.

I like the airport way more than CUN and am interested in the areas it makes more easily accessible. Given the tourist trade I think (hope?) the airport can find its niche.

I would have though LAX a good route. Bummer

Just saw this article too:

Less Than A Year: American Airlines Will No Longer Fly Between Charlotte & Tulum
American Airlines will soon stop flying between Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Tulum International Airport (TQO) in Mexico. Launched in March this year along with Dallas-Tulum and Miami-Tulum flights, the service from Charlotte will be suspended on February 13, 2025..
---
The airline will continue to fly to Tulum from Miami and Dallas, and passengers affected by the suspension of the Charlotte service will be informed by the carrier and accommodated on other flights.

The airlines all came at once, but the passengers have not.

Any suggestions on transfers into Tulum prices seem quite steep

The ADO bus costs 200 pesos from the Tulum airport to Central Tulum.

The bus drops off passengers at Calle Jupiter and Calle Alfa nte streets.
