I was a little steamed I couldn't get enrolled in the double elite bonus nights promotion and considered moving all my travels to the Hilton brand for this year, where I've already made Diamond (based on their promo, else I would be Gold again where I was happy for the past years).

Just signed another project agreement that will guarantee I will requal as Plat and also make the Megabonus promo, so yooooo hooooooooo!!!

I registered for the 5000 pts for 2 stays - max of 25k points Megabonus. I had 3 stays post recently (check in 14th, checkout 15th, then 15th to 16th, and 16th to 17th).

5000 points posted with "2009 MEGABONUS PROMO - VISA" in the description column. Also, my promo progress tracker shows 2 stays and 20% complete for the Megabonus.

So it appears that the stay where I checked in on the 14th and out on the 15th does not count. I guess this makes sense since the promo starts the night of the 15th.

I stayed at the Courtyard from 9/13 to 9/17 total of 4 nights but received credit for two nights in the promotion section.

I will give Marriott a few days to correct it before calling CS.

I would venture to guess your not going to get credit for any nights before 9/15 when the promo started. This has been the case in the past.

From the FAQ:
If I check in before September 15 or check out after January 15, do I still earn credit for that stay?

As long as one (1) eligible night occurs during the eligibility earning window (Sept 15, 2009 � Jan 15, 2010), a member would earn a credit for that stay toward their MegaBonus.

I believe that language is primarily for the stay-based bonuses, meaning that an 8 night stay with 1 night in the designated period counts as a stay for the promotion.
I don't think they've ever given night credit towards a promo for nights that don't fall within the promotional period.

Is the double nights / points also with a VISA card? or no VISA card required there...?

This may be my defected-from-Hilton "honeymoon period", but I am really enjoying Marriott Rewards.

Tied to AMEX so promo is useless for me.

hope Marriott do something with adding stay and points to our accounts faster i checked out at the 1st today 7 nothing yet in my account hate that 10 days of waiting ,
i just hope when i checked out i can see every thing credited to the account the next day or 2 days after checkout in any Marriott in the world.

Called the Plat line about my promo, as I had the 50,000 pointer but no chance of making the stays.
The auto voice ansafone is no use, but it didnt seem to understand "please may I speak to an advisor", or "human being", or "take me to your leader", or "stop asking me the same question and find me someone to strangle". Strangely a threat to stuff it up my *posterior* and use it to greet my morning movements did elicit a transfer to a human being, followed by a transfer back to the computer so I repeated the threat about my morning bowel movements and Whaddya know, ended up with someone who knew nowt and sent me... back to computer!!!!
Eventually got put through to a very knowledgeable lady who simply noted on the computer stating that she would credit me with the best offer I made at the end of the promo... Sweet
If anyone knows how to avoid the computer on plat line though I'd be grateful...

I need 12 more nights to get the 50k megabonus. It's turning out to be a good fall with the Hilton and Marriott bonuses. I'll probably get them done around Thanksgiving.

Sure is. With some juggling of reservations I will be able to get both the 50K Marriott bonus and 50K from 8 stays with Hilton this fall. Not to mention that the Marriott nights roll forward for next years requalification. I should be able to requalify for Plat with only 12 nights next year with the bonus nights from this year and the credit card bonus.
