In the past, pretty much everyone could participate in the Megabonus promotions. With that said, I seem to remember some posts from past promos where there were problems for some to sign up. I would think a quick call to MR should help to clear everything up and hopefully, they will be able to get you signed up.

I got a message that I was not eligible. I was sure it was an error so I called the CS line. I was told not to worry registration was not open until next Tuesday.
I protested saying I knew others had registered.
He told me wait until Tuesday if it still didn't work call back.

Remember to register by October 31, 2009! Go to MarriottRewards.com/MegaBonus or call 888-MARRIOTT.

well...why is it that it seems certain promos are harder to achieve for some than others...for instance, due to unforseen circumstances, i may NOT be able to hit even the minimum nights for a bonus...heck i may be a night short for THIS bonus, although i have stayed enough, i had a couple property comps and used some points to add an additional night (no hotel in middle NJ is worth 269 bucks a night EVER....)

i may have a chance at something if the offers were the same, or if we could select the one we would like.....how's about that?????

+1 on that, locked to my corporate amex.

I was looking at changing from a Hilton property as I have reached diamond for next year and need change of scenery and food selection. Marriott was at the top of list because its the other preferred chain for my company. But now I may reevaluate. I can get away with a nonpreferred hotel, not using the corporate amex not so much.

They seem to be the only hotel chain that requires a specific payment type for their main promo.

Because I am required to use my AmEx instead of Visa, I'll probably be giving my thousands of dollars to someone else.

With the rollover, it really would have taken a very minimal promo to keep me.

Every year we go through this AMEX vs. Visa thing. Last year, I tried that trick of buying something vith my personal Visa at check out and it did not work.

Oh well.

just got mine. 5k for every other stay between Sept. 15 and Jan 15 ... up to 25k.

Not a bad promo ... should yield me 10k extra miles after 4 stays.

what am I missing???

the mega-bonus will run 9/15-1/31 so we are still 1 month away! and people are complaining they werent able to sign up as yet???

whats the big deal???

make your reses and not non-refundable and if you arent a Plat and cant change the offer given to you simply CX your reses and stay elsewhere, if you dont like the promo you were given

Its another ballgame if it started already, but heck over a month before it begins and people are complaining, Get a Life

I was given the "25,000 MegaBonus points when you stay a total of 15 paid nights, plus 15,000 additional MegaBonus points when you stay a total of 20 paid nights." flavour so I emailed and asked for the Double Nights/Double Points version. I got a reply saying that I couldn't have that one but I could change to any of the others so I asked for "2,500 MegaBonus points every paid stay – starting with your second stay – up to a maximum of 25,000 points" instead.

Geez, take a pill or something. Last I checked a forum is a place to share thoughts/ideas both positive or negative. No one is forcing you to read these threads. You are welcome to ignore them if you don't like reading what people have say.

I think the reason people have posted their problems signing up for the promotion is to point out that it is working for some, and not for others. I was able to sign up with no issues, but others have not been able to. I see no harm in the sharing of that information, perhaps someone will find a resolution for those having problems.

As for disliking the offer received, again, no harm in sharing that opinion. Marriott does read this forum and regardless of whether they change anything based on the thoughts of their members, it is another way they are able to receive feedback. If nothing else, it allows us to release a little irritation regarding an offer that will not benefit us individually and allows everyone to see what various offers are out there.
