As long as one (1) eligible night occurs during the eligibility earning window (Sept 15, 2009 – Jan 15, 2010), a member would earn a credit for that stay toward their MegaBonus.
I believe that language is primarily for the stay-based bonuses, meaning that an 8 night stay with 1 night in the designated period counts as a stay for the promotion.
I don't think they've ever given night credit towards a promo for nights that don't fall within the promotional period.
