I was offered the 25K for 15 or something like that when I originally tried to sign up using the "generic" link on this thread. I didnt confirm it.
Then I waited until I got the link online (last week) and it says 50K/25 nights!!! ^ |
How come all I get is this message?
We could not register you in the MegaBonus promotion at this time. Please contact your local Marriott Rewards Guest Services office for assistance. |

Even when you call, it appears that the 35/50K promotions are only for Plats. Now I do not begrudge the Plats this, I am on my way to Plat myself, but what incentive does it give Silvers and Golds that you only get the low-end promotions? Why not give every one ALL the promotions and you get the points you earn based on your stay pattern. Not everyone will do 25 nights between 15 Sep and 15 Jan, but they might do 15 stays in that period.
That is what I did and they moved me to Plat immediately while I am doing my stays. Basically in month and a half I am going to do 12 already so plenty to spare. I will probably do 20+ in 3 months easy. |

You can always get Plat challenge if you think you will stay 18 days in 3 months.

How do you get upgraded to Plat by staying 18 days in 3 months? I stayed about 45 days in 3 months and only got upgraded to Gold when I reached 50 days. It was a tough feat but I didn't sense much accomplishment through the incentives.

Sept 15th Begining Date
Does this Sunday night September 14th into Monday morning September 15th count as a stay towards the promotion?
In other words, how is Sept 15th defined? Is it the day of check-in or is it the day of check-out? Cheers |
If I look at my bill I always see date of check-in as day charge incurred. So I assume 9/14 doesn't count.

I am staying Marriott but the charges are directly billed to the client. Is there a way to get the bonus points without having the room charged to a Visa card?

Is paying with a Marriott GC considered a Visa payment
|
Yes, the Marriott gift cards go through as a Visa charge.

I was pre-registered, but...
My online is contradictory.
It says: 2008 Fall MegaBonus >> (You've been pre-registered) Earn 5,000 MegaBonus points with every 3rd paid stay, up to a total of 25,000 points from Sept. 15, 2008 - Jan. 15, 2009. Progress Toward Goal You're registered for MegaBonus. Stay 25 total Visa-paid nights and earn 50,000 bonus points. Nights you need to achieve your goal: 25 nights Total nights stayed: 0 nights Progress: 0% So the first part says "5K for every 3rd Stay, up to 25K" but the second part says the 25 visa paid nights for 50K. It's almost like they cut and pasted wrong... Anyone else seeing this? |
