I sure hope they are willing to give me a better offer than the one on the table for me.

Well the offer I got is pitiful for me:
5,000 points every 3 stays, up to 25,000 points. So let's see, with an average stay length of 3 nights, I'm going to need to stay about 45 nights between September 15 and January 15, but I am more likely to get about a 15,000 for my 25 or 30 nights during this period. Not a very impressive incentive for me. In fact, it is so disappointing, that I just can bear to click on the "Register Now" button. Definitely will be looking around for better offers elsewhere at this rate. This is while others will get a 50,000 bonus for the same number of nights I will get a 15,000 bonus. :( I sure hope they are willing to give me a better offer than the one on the table for me. |

AFAIK, Marriott has allowed Gold/Plats to change the promo type they were assigned in every past Megabonus promo. So I wouldn't worry too much as I see no reason why Marriott would suddenly change their rules now.
I usually sign-up for what ever I am offered and when I have a better Idea on my stay pattern I call and request the best suited promo. They add a note to my account and the difference in points gets posted after the promo ends. This has been my experience with the past promos and hope fully it did not change. |

I got this crappy offer when I signed up through the link in the OP, but when I got my e-mail this morning it was for the much better offer:

I got the 35K offer but just called Platinum Guest Services and they switched me over to the 50K offer.
For those looking to switch to this promo, the agent told me the code for the 50K promo is M608. |

Same here, glad I waited for my email vs using the link in this thread.
If it did, then can you post the link, and if it is different then I'll edit my post to reflect that this might not be the best for everyone - definitely don't want people to lose points (but the Conceirge did say the generic link should work for all)! |

I'm curious, did your email offer take you to a different url than the generic one I posted above? (if you strip out all of the extras at the end that were your email address etc)

I would say 24 to 48 hours. But since I am not sure I will test this and let you know if it is different.

My estimate of 24 to 48 hours for your Mega bonus registration to show on promotracker was not correct. The registrations will not migrate to Marriott.com until the 29th of August. This is when you will be able to see the promotion via promotracker.

Forgot the Germans?
I have regularly been furnished with recent Mega Bonus offers but there is yet no fall offer around for me. It probably appears sooner or later, I just ask myself what sort of strategy is behind the diverse offers and why are not all participants assigned at the same time, although the gaining period equals?
|
So how long should you wait for the email? I have not recieved one yet. I am Gold.

I think the emails are coming out in batches. The promotional period doesn't start for another month, so I wouldn't be too concerned if the email takes some time to arrive.

Thanks Ira ^
