I am Platinum and never got the email and I did receive the same message online. I have participated in all the previous promotions.
I just emailed customer service and they signed me up for the 50k, but I don't see it in my online account, yet. Perhaps when it starts on Sep 15? |
mine is on line for 35K ... weak

Based on your Platinum Elite status I would be happy to change your MegaBonus offer. Your has been changed so that you will now receive 35,000 Marriott Rewards Mega Bonus points when you stay a total of 20 Visa paid nights - plus an additional 15,000 points when you stay a total of 25 Visa paid nights. You can receive up to a total of 50,000 points when you have 25 Visa paid nights. Since this is a manual change you will not see it updated in your online account however please rest assured that I will be tracking your account and once you have the needed number of nights I will add the additional bonus points to your account. |
So whats up with the link on the main Marriot page being broken? I'm still unable to register online, nor have I gotten any email with a link.
|
Looks like it is fixed
I can now see my progress indicator for the 50k megabonus.
The previously broken link is now functional. |
I got 5K every third stay up to 25K. Changed to 50K via email.
|
Thanks for your link!

Aaagggghh
I e-mailed to have my MegaBonus changed from 35,000 for 20 nights to that plus 50,000 if I did 25 (which I should easily manage).
I don't know where Marriott is recruiting some of their customer service staff, but some haven't a clue what they are doing. They said I couldn't have the 50,000 for 25 nights as i hadn't stayed 20 nights on the promotion (err, the one that doesn't start until the 15th of September?!). I tried not to be too rude in my reply, but sometimes you really do wonder (this from someone who is struggling to get a new job, maybe I should lower my standards?) Anyway, I suspect I will get there in the end. Just like I will eventually get all my points posted for 4 stays that Marriott seem to have gone out of their way to mess up .... |

Well the offer I got is pitiful for me:
5,000 points every 3 stays, up to 25,000 points. There is nothing Mega about staying 6 times & earning 1 Bonus free night at a suburban Courtyard with a Roof of the Wal-Mart view :D ! Contrast this to earning 3 Hyatt FFNs! |

I got the same version :( so I hereby join GrizShel #29 & MileKing #32 in chanting "So-pathetic!" in the same rhythm as athletes chanted "Copacetic!" circa 2000.

No angst, hhoope01--just a yawn & a shrug & a derisive smirk :p. BTW, I'm a low-end Silver. I'm just saying that this Bonus does not inspire me to make an effort to stay at Marriotts. OTOH, the X14s of 2002--3 did.

Even when you call, it appears that the 35/50K promotions are only for Plats. Now I do not begrudge the Plats this, I am on my way to Plat myself, but what incentive does it give Silvers and Golds that you only get the low-end promotions? Why not give every one ALL the promotions and you get the points you earn based on your stay pattern. Not everyone will do 25 nights between 15 Sep and 15 Jan, but they might do 15 stays in that period.

I'm annoyed that this Megabonus offer is tied to a Visa card. :td: Not exactly ideal for people who have to use a corp amex...
|
I too was offered the 20 nights / 35K points incentive. I sent an email asking for the 25/50K version (which I'll achieve comfortably) and received a very pleasant and helpful email back the same day to confirm.
I would never have thought of this if it hadn't been for this thread, so thanks very much to all the FTers who have contributed. |
Curses! I was really looking forward to nailing this promotion right off the top. I just went to book my rooms and discovered that all the local Marriotts are pretty much sold out for the next month. Sheesh!
