Will checking in with Visa and checking out with Amex work? My corporate card is with Amex and they frown on us using personal cards for business expenses.

Anyway Hyatt has been mute on this promo,so if does start on 9/1(10 days from now) rather than9/15(what I was told) they are keeping that under their hat :confused:

I must say, I will be moving a few stays Hyatts way during this period. Even vs. the Megabonus which I'll get anyway, this will definitely take some nights away from Marriott

Is it safe to assume that since I never received an email about this that I am probably not targeted this time around? I am surprised not to have been targeted, given that I'm over 100 nights already this year and really have no incentive to keep staying at Marriott. This might have been a good reason to keep staying there, but I'll likely take advantage of the Hyatt and *wood promos instead.

Edited: I bothered to reread and got registered. However, the promo I got was one of the crappy ones. Maybe I'll call to change promos.

Definitely as a Marriott Plat you shouldn't have any issues about changing promos. I would wait until you figure out which of the various promos will net you the most bonus points and then call in to request the change.

Also note that the MR CSR won't actually change your promo. What they normally do is make a note in your profile stating that you requested the change. Then at the end of the promo period someone will go in and manually give you the number of bonus points you would have received if you had been offered that promo type.

The promo ends August 31st and I have a stay on that night so will the stay count?

PRINCESSKIM, based on experience with past megabonus promotions, yes your stay should count. To be sure, I suggest you PM the Marriott Concierge or call MR.

I am also interested in the answer to this. I have two GCs with $$ left. If GC payment is not valid, what if a stay is paid partially with GC and partially with Visa? Will all nights count?

It has always worked in the past, but there is always a chance it won't.

The manager at the hotel I frequent mentioned that it costs them more to use the GCs then other payments. I suspect Visa is processing the GC and getting a take, likely higher than a standard Visa transaction, so I don't see any reason why they will start making a distinction between the GC and Visa for promotion qualifications.

I have gotten 2x $2K GC with the delta bonus for 10% off. I think the limit is $10K

On my Marriott Rewards page a day earlier than Ira promised. I don't check every day so it could have been up earlier than today.

There must be a bug in displaying the promotion because I see this on my promotion page:

I have the 50,000 offer, but the heading does not match the offer.

I can see it on mine as well. However it is inconsistent on which promotion I am signed up for

I believe I am signed up for the Stay 25 promotion, but I guess time will tell. Perhaps some web fubar while they are in the process of officially publishing the promotion.

Interesting... I never got an email about the promo and I don't see the promo on the website. When I tried using the link at the beginning of this thread I get a webpage that says the megabonus promo is currently unavailable.

Am I missing something here? How come I never got an email to register and never saw a link on the website?
