No wonder upgrades are becoming fewer and farther between
A priceline booking, comped status, and you want two upgraded rooms and free bkfst and dinner snacks for 4 or 5. Hotels are a business you know, pretty soon we will be reading about all the benefit cuts hotels are making like the airlines.
Breakfast is $25/day/person, so that would be 25*5*4 nights = $500, just for breakfast. It would be nice to save $500. Secondly, I've moved 5 stays from Hilton to Marriott already.Originally Posted by jan_az

thats my whole point. You paid $50 a nite for a room and want $50 a nite in free bkfst plus an upgrade. Hilton no longer recognizes status on PL bookings. I cant imagine that Marriot will be far behind ( nor would I blame them)Originally Posted by -DSH-

Marriott is already years behind Hilton in changing policy on PCLN bookings. Hyatt too has not followed Hilton's policy change on PCLN bookings. It's been a number of years since Hilton changed policy.Originally Posted by jan_az

Plenty of PCLN-bookings are bookings made where the customer actually knows the hotel in advance of booking and may even pick it. I wouldn't be surprised if customers choosing the hotel is actally the segment of PCLN bookings that has grown the most in the past year.Originally Posted by bpauker
For the benefit of those of us who choose Marriott rather than having a PL-determined low-price model "choose" it for us, I hope your "elite" benefits are not recognized.

When you were calling in, you may have confused the person. If you do this, you want to have them pull up the reservation and add your account # to it, not pull up your account and add the reservation. It doesn't work that way and the rep might have thought you were asking for credit on a PL reservation.Originally Posted by -DSH-
When you add the reservation to your MR account, doesn't your MR# get added to your reservation automatically?

Thanks, this was indeed the case (see previous page).Originally Posted by glg

fyi, it's not unusual for a CSR to agree to add your MR #. That way, if you charge incidentals to your room, they will earn MR points.Originally Posted by -DSH-
Update -- I got my MR# added by calling Europe CR. It shows up under reservations in my MR account online and it has my MR#.
However, you shouldn't bank on receiving stay credits or MR points for your room rate. That said, iirc, mistakes do happen and there's a slim chance you'll luck out.
Personally, I've always and only have received Hyatt Points from my PL stays.

Thanks for the reply. My email confirmation says I will receive points but the chance this will happen is very slim, as you (and others) mention..Originally Posted by bk3day

That's correct - you shouldn't get credit or points but if you do, it's a nice bonus.Originally Posted by -DSH-

Not really any need for that sort of 'snobbery', surely. Don't hate the player, hate the game.Originally Posted by bpauker

Stay credit via Priceline?
Does MR give stay credit on Priceline reservations?
I received stay credit on a Renaissance Priceline booking in May. Then this month (June) I had two different Marriott stays, again on Priceline, and received no stay credit for either one. I know my MR number was on each booking because I received points from incidentals on both stays.
