Is anyone able to find any good deals for decent hotels in NYC second week of December?

Prices are double compared to this summer were I paid USD199 for a BAR rate at Marriott East Side. For December 6-8 and 11-13 best I can get is 399 :eek:
Thats 2 + 2 nights :) Road trip in between.

Any help much appreciated.

1. Hong Kong Skycity Marriott hotel, check-in 11/13 and check-out on 11/14
2. Renaissance Kowloon hotel, check-in 11/23 and check-out on 11/24.

I just submitted a LNF claim where the Marriott.com rate (in Euros) includes tax while the lower competing rate (in USD) does not. Does anyone have any experience with this with regards to LNF? I'm just curious if my claim will be denied since it's impossible (from my end) to determine the pre-tax room rate.

Marriott approved the claim, so perhaps I was worrying/wondering needlessly. I'm headed to the LNF successfull claims tread to post the details.
