Guys, it is a very great idea to have such a collection. BUUUUUUT it would be even more helpful to start a collection with LNF sites for hotels outside NORTH AMERICA (where the "no voucher" policy comes in)!

PS: I would appreciate if you guys could send me some websites "without voucher" because I am most often denied by the LNF team

There are MANY no voucher OBS sites on the list, it is just up to you to do the research with the sites to discover which those are. If no one does the research and lets me know which are non-voucher sites, I cannot add the information to the list by osmosis. I am dependent on the list readers/users to supply me with the appropriate information to add to, or provide notes for, the list.

Just your weekly reminder for anyone who wishes to receive the Obscure Booking Sites for LNF (V.14-1) with this Monday, May 13 distribution.

So far there have been several requests by PM, each of whom will receive the list by PM ONLY. For anyone else, who has not sent me a PM, and who is interested in receiving the LIST OF OBSCURE BOOKING SITES for LNF (by PRIVATE MESSAGE ONLY), this is the final reminder. I will be sending the weekly distribution of the list sometime late in the day (eastern time) on Monday, May 13. Just send me one PM (if you have already sent a request since May 6, or if you have received a previous version of the list, there is no need to send another request) sometime before noon eastern time on Monday, and I will gladly include you on the distribution list. There are now over 125 FTers who have subscribed to the weekly distribution!

Yes, you are reading right, due to the large number of changes/additions, we are up to VERSION 14-1!

NOTE: Please, PM your LNF (site) successes (with domestic or international notations), as well as information on voucher vs. non-voucher sites, so these new features can be added to the list!

NOTE 2: When the distribution gets to 140 subscriptions (over 125 now), that will mean sending out 20 duplicate PM's every week (FlyerTalk allows a max of 7 recipients per PM), does anyone have any suggestions on how to reduce the numbers of duplicate PM's which must be sent out? How do you feel about converting the distribution to e-mail, to cut down on the repetitive number of messages which must be sent. Your suggestions are invited and welcome!

Marriott Munich Airport, 28 June 2013

Would appreciate a BRG claim for
  • Marriott Munich Airport
  • Standard including breakfast
  • 2 people (but one would also be fine)
  • 28 June 2013
  • Marriott: 99 EUR
  • FTI.com: 82 EUR

FTI.com was refused with the usual "voucher" concept. But I cannot find any voucher involved in this website.

First question: Where is the voucher?
Second question: Is there another site for a match?

Thx

Is there an English language version of FTI.de (FTI.com defaults to FTI.de)?

Unfortunately, one must use Google to translate.

Sorry then, can't help you, I did try though.

What is actually the point here, why don't people want to give out websites "without vouchers"? I know only two of them but they are always more expensive than the Marriott websites. It would be really helpful to know which sites are good outside North America

I have a feeling that the vouchers are the way that these sites guarantee they get paid for booking travel. In so many cases travel agency commissions are non-existent, so by putting together a reservation which requires a voucher, then the "booking fee" is baked into the cake, so to speak. THIS IS JUST A GUESS on my part, if anyone else has different information on this, please post it.

Hmmm? But why do we not openly tell each other which sites are "non vocher sites"?

PS: FTI.com was approved for the Sheraton Munich Airport for my account but several times declined for a buddy's account? Makes no sense to me. Any why, I had to cancel the approved claim because I found a better offer on the SPG site.

No one is hiding the voucher information. Also, a site can be both a voucher and a non-voucher site, right? Just because they offer one hotel rez deal with a voucher today, does not mean that they might not have another hotel rez deal without a voucher tomorrow, understand?

The same is true about you and your buddy. Whatever reservation you were making was not identical to what your buddy was making, was it? Unless the reservations were for the very same trip, made on the very same day, they could be completely different, understand?

TallestHotelInJapan May 14, 2013 11:48 am

Both requests were very same.

Then I would appeal the denial. Two identical requests, one approved, the other denied, sounds like an easy reason for the denial being later approved on appeal to a higher authority, such as the LNF manager.
