Weekly Obscure Booking Sites distribution - New Info!
 

Just your weekly reminder for anyone who wishes to receive the Obscure Booking Sites for LNF (V.13-1) with this Monday, May 6 distribution.

So far there have been several requests by PM, each of whom will receive the list by PM ONLY. For anyone else, who has not sent me a PM, and who is interested in receiving the LIST OF OBSCURE BOOKING SITES for LNF (by PRIVATE MESSAGE ONLY), this is the final reminder. I will be sending the weekly distribution of the list sometime late in the day (eastern time) on Monday, May 6. Just send me one PM (if you have already sent a request since April 29, or if you have received a previous version of the list, there is no need to send another request) sometime before noon eastern time on Monday, and I will gladly include you on the distribution list. There are now over 115 FTers who have subscribed to the weekly distribution!

Need a little help.....

I'm going to Los Angeles May 9-15 (6 nights)

I have two hotels which I prefer, and have stayed at multiple times before. Both have split rates, for 3 weekend nights, and 3 weekday nights, and both offer packages.

Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel
$129 (9-12)
$149 (9-12 Stay for breakfast)
$219 (12-15)
$199 (12-15 Surf & Turf - Internet and parking included*)

Manhattan Beach Marriott
$143 (9-12)
$159 (9-12 Your Way - $50 credit per night*)

*Are these LNFable?

Can anybody find anything better than above?
I'm thinking about staying at Manhattan Beach 9-12, and Renaissance 12-15 unless someone can find better on above rates.

I talked myself out of terminating the OBS list distribution after this week, but I did think about it for a while. I can't actually believe that there was not a single person who offered to help me out with the hotels I asked for help with on Saturday. With almost 130 people who will receive the distribution today, I was genuinely surprised that not a single one of those people tried/offered to help me out. Live and learn! Don't worry, the OBS list will go on!

The $159 with a $50 credit each night is a pretty good rate. I couldn't find anything better for that or the 12-15 at Manhattan Beach.

Thank you, I actually did find something slightly better for May 9-12 at Manhattan Beach, "AAA Hot Deals with Breakfast, includes breakfast for 2 guests daily" for $135, so it won't be necessary to be tied to the hotel for both breakfast AND dinner for all three days I am there, because the $50 credit can't be used in the gift shop, so basically it is for food, beverage, and in room films only, so it kind of ties you to the hotel. This lower rate doesn't have the credit, but it does cover weekend breakfast when they don't issue coupons for elites there. Still hoping to find something better for May 12-15 at the Ren LAX.

I was away until today and whilst I could log into the forum I only had a phone with me and searching for the best rates on that isn't viable.
I suspect that not everyone checks in here everyday either.

Have you looked on sites quoting the rates in USD? Sometimes, in and of itself, that can be quite helpful, either for finding a lower rate, or for having two different rates for the same hotel (on the same dates) to compare to for LNF research. It is just MHO, but sometimes different currencies can yield different results, but of course, as always with this sort of a thing, YMMV.

Guys, it is a very great idea to have such a collection. BUUUUUUT it would be even more helpful to start a collection with LNF sites for hotels outside NORTH AMERICA (where the "no voucher" policy comes in)!

PS: I would appreciate if you guys could send me some websites "without voucher" because I am most often denied by the LNF team
