Mine is back to Gold again........but I am not sure if it is supposed to be.....I have achieved 75 nights since last October so I would think the rolling credit would kick in. I guess we will see what happens.....

I was granted Platinum this morning and now its gone.
At least I got to see all the different elite offers for the different status levels.
Something to look forward to I guess.

Platinum for three days and now back to Gold
I, too was Platinum for three days and now am back to Gold. With the 15 nights for being a new Visa Card holder and the number of stays I've had in the last year, I believe I should be Platinum. I wrote to Marriott and I'll wait for a response. On the bright side, I did get the Platinum amenity when I checked into a Marriott tonight.
The other odd thing is that I have 34 nights so far and it says I need 41 more to retain Gold.

I will probably wait a couple of days before I call or send anything to Marriott just to see how things shake out. They may be having some problems with their system.

I got bumped up to Gold a few weeks ago. I had less than 10 nights in 2004, and 43 nights in 2005. I had a few early this year but was well off my pace of 43 last year. Anyway, lo and behold, I sign into my account and get the Gold banners and EEO's! Awesome!
I also received a letter and plastic card from MR in the mail this week:
Dear Mr. [matchbox20_is],
I'm delighted to inform you that as one of Marriott's most valued guests, we've upgraded your Elite membership in Marriott Rewards from Silver to Gold.
We understand that your travel schedule this past year may not have allowed you to make the required number of stays needed for an automatic upgrade. However, we wish to reward your steadfast loyalty to Marriott with this complimentary upgrade to Gold Elite status, and hope you will continue to make Marriott your first choice when making your travel plans.
Your Gold level status will be renewed in 2007 if you personally stay at least 50 nights with us during 2006. We look forward to welcoming you at a Marriott hotel again soon. I thank you for your business.
Sincerely,
J.W. Marriott, Jr.
I'm more than impressed with this service, it was completely unneccessary and I'm fully aware that I didn't hit the Gold targets in 2005. My loyalty is even greater now than before.

Just got off the phone talking with a Marriott CSR. According to her, there was a little "glitch" with counting the 15 nights received from the new Premier Visa card. She said that the glitch somehow mulitplied that number by 5. This caused a number of people to be incorrectly upgraded to a higher status.
They have now fixed that problem and we should be showing our correct elite status now.
BTW, I did notice that they have corrected my additional of nights needed fields. They all seem to have the correct number of nights now.

Platinum then Gold now Platinum again..
I wrote Marriott about my status and their computer glitch and this is what I got in return:
"Thank you for contacting Marriott Rewards regarding your Elite status.
I apologize for all the confusion. Our system encountered an error in which all members' who have received the 15 additional Elite nights for the new Marriott Visa card were automatically upgraded to Platinum Elite, regardless of whether their accounts had enough nights or not. As a result our corporate offices took all the account which had been credited with the 15 additional nights from Visa and downgraded them back to their previous status.
I have reviewed your account and have verified that you have earned Platinum Elite between nights stayed on a rolling year and the bonus 15 Elite nights. I have now manually upgraded your Marriott Rewards account back to Platinum Elite status and have requested a new Platinum membership card be issued. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing and delivery.
Again I apologize for any confusion in this matter. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Thank you for choosing Marriott."
So, their glitch helped me out. They may have caught my rolling teir status on the next run through anyway but I got it a little sooner than I may have otherwise. ^
