Does anyone know how long it takes guest services to post a missing stay after you fax in your bill? I faxed in a copy Wednesday morning and haven't seen anything yet.
I'm also confused as to why the stay didn't post in the first place. My number was on the bill, and stays always seem to post in 2 or 3 days. It's 10 days later, and no points.

And BTW, it was from a property that I stay in around 50 nights a year and had never had a problem with points not posting. Go figure.

I usually use the customer service link on the website. Normally I get a response in 24 hours and the nights post within 72.

I've had bad luck with the fax routine. I usually call SLC and they check with the hotel while I'm on the line with them.
Points post within a day or two.

Typically only a few days. Fairly painless if you have a reciept. I have personally noticed an uptick in the amount of misplaced stays that need credit requests over the past year.

I have had to fax in 5 missing stay requests in the last two years and have always had a quick response--about 48-72 hours for the stays to post.
I usually have no problem with the credits posting, but it seems there is a problem with some of the resorts in getting credit. I just save my receipts and watch for them to post, and if not, the fax works great for me. The other time I see a problem is when there is a promotion going on, such as the latest 30,000 mile promo. I had 2 stays not post which I had to follow up on.
If it goes over 72 hours, I would make a call.

From my experience it is best to call them first and get a reps name and fax to there attention. Retain that persons name in case you need to fax another stay in the future. Always fax to a persons attention and you will get reults usually within one day. When I fax without someones name on it they sometimes seem to get lost.
