Oklahoma City OKC Renaissance open the typical Sunday night until Friday morning. Good amount of food offered during breakfast and evenings. ^

Renaissance Flatiron Suites - Broomfield, CO - No Lounge, Coupons for full breakfast buffet during the week. Not sure on weekends.

San Mateo Marriott San Francisco Airport
This Marriott's concierge is closed from noon Friday to Sunday 5:00 pm. They do offer breakfast on the weekend. They have a list in the dining room of permitted guests.
Now some surprising news this Marriott has a far better concierge lounge than most properties. The breakfast assortment is better than most and the snacks at night are pretty good. They also have desserts and candy bars at 7:30. Guests are allowed to pour their own drinks at the honor bar. They changed the weekend breakfast policy and no longer offer weekend breakfasts for platinums. No coupons, no list. I asked![B] |
Renaissance Polat Istanbul, Turkey OPEN 365 plus free internet terminal in the lounge area.

Ren Paris Vendome?
I assume the Ren Paris Vendome has no lounge. Do they do breakfast coupons during the week? Weekend?

Sao Paulo, Brazil Airport Marriott
C-Lounge is closed on weekends for breakfast, but is open for coffee, non-alcoholic dinks and snacks. As a platinum, I was provided with free breakfast on the weekend in the restaurant. During the week I was provided with the option of the C-Lounge breakfast or the restaurant breakfast (which had more options). During the week (SUN - THU) they had a 2 hour HAPPY HOUR with free beer or wine. |

First, I want to appologize for not updating since mid summer. It's been a long few months (preparing for a new born in November :D )
I went back and updated the first post to reflect everyones input since the last update. Please continue to post any new info, corrections, or changes. Unfortuntely, the changes I keep finding seem to be once open lounges are now closing on the weekend. Wish these managers understood how it sets them apart from the competition. Thanks again everyone for your insight! Jonathan |

not last weekend, when i was there. :( Crapalicious. I have a reservation on hold for Hilton Chicago, where they don't guarantee Golds even basic room type. And I have a reservation on hold for this Renaissance, where I have King/Nonsmoking guaranteed, but now it appears that there will be no Sunday morning lounge. I'm think I'm just gonna pitch a tent in Grant Park. |
That's lousy. I have a reservation for the weekend of Nov 7th - I wonder what they'll do about that weekend?

Keep a screenshot of the rate rules from Marriott.com and politely ask for it at check-in if the lounge is actually closed. The one time something similar happened - a lounge that was supposed to be open on a Sunday night wasn't - the manager put a $25 food credit on my folio and sent me happily on my way to the bar. :) I still half-expect that the lounge will be open. Perhaps it's a situation where the communication about these "special" weekends hadn't made it through to the staff I was speaking to this morning. |
Update: Renaissance Chicago's lounge is now closed permanently on weekends. I spoke to three people today, including a manager, who was aware of the website language but said in no uncertain terms: no weekend lounges anymore, period. I warned him that he might have a few unhappy marathon runners on his hands at 6:30AM Sunday, and I canceled my reservation.
I called Hilton Chicago, explained my predicament, and they were kind enough to open up a King-Nonsmoking room on their Exec Floor, to which I have now "e-checked" in. In other circumstances, I probably would've stayed put at the Renaissance - I hear its a very nice hotel - and with a printout of my rate rules I'm sure they would have thrown me a couple of free breakfasts. |
