Renaissance Moscow lounge open weekends

Arriving on a Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised to find the lounge open on weekends.

Actually, since the lounge is in the middle of the top level rooms, it is physically open all the time. I'm using one of the four internet stations right now.

I believe breakfast is 6 to 10 and afternoon snacks are just 17 to 19 or some such.

House wine is free, but beer and mixed drinks are about $8 US.

Baltimore, MD Renaissance has the C-Lounge open all weekend long. Had a great stay there this past weekend.

Jerusalem, Israel - Free Israeli style breakfast for 2. Retail value $22 pp for gold member. No breakfast certificates due to the Sabbath - just gave room number on Saturday. On Sunday, restaurant charged, but front desk reversed charges. There is no club level or lounge at this property.

Washington Dulles Marriott Suites. This hotel, like most "suites," has no lounge at all but gives free "good start" breakfast to Plats, even on weekends.

Malaysia, Putrajaya, nr Kuala Lumpur

As most folk probably already know, Putrajaya is Malaysia's administrative capital, around 25 miles south of Kuala Lumpur city, and with a train service both to the city and to the airport.

Marriott Putrajaya executive lounge is open weekends, and staffed. Lounge remains accessible with room key after 22:00, on 'self service'. Complimentary drinks (wine, beer, juices) and hot snacks / dessert fruits 17:00 - 19:00, coffee/tea/water/biscuits complimentary all day. Complimentary continental breakfast with good variety of juices and superb tropical fresh fruits. Friendly staff.

Single PC in lounge, free, with MS Office, and internet access - but can only read floppy disk - USB port is disabled for some reason so cannot use memory stick.

Hotel runs complimentary minibus services to KL city, and local train station, and nearby shopping mall.

The food in the main restaurant is pretty good - very wide choices, and some great tastes.

regards Talisman

Curious: Did you ask and they declined; or did they just fail to offer?

I didn't ask.

Saint Louis Airport Marriott. CL closed for reservations until Feb 27 (according to the sign). I stayed last night (Sat Feb 18). I asked for plat breakfast coupons and was told the Manager had discontinued these during the period when the lounge was closed. (Then what the heck is the point of having them in the first place?)

Anyway, when I protested, the Front Desk Manager (cheerfully) gave me two breakfast coupons. One each for me and my wife. Don't have my new booklet handy, but I thought the free breakfast at FS properties was a standard guaranteed benefit for plats....either in the CL or in the restaurant when the CL is closed. I've always been offered it without fail until this weekend. Perhaps its supposed to be just a weekday perk, but if so, I've had the good fortune to be offered the breakfast on weekends or any other time the CL was closed.

Anyway, I'm also happy to report the new refurbishing at this old stalwart property is starting to produce some very nice results. Newly redone rooms on concierge floor are very nice with new bedding package, new work area, new cabinetry, lighting, and plasma TV. Bravo! Also had dinner for the second time in six months at the (relatively) new restaurant. Nothing spectacular, but very good food and service. Remodeling also extends to the bar, which used to be a bit seedy (at least by Marriott standards), but is now a very lively and pleasant place.

I stand corrected....

Just came across my benefits booklet for 2006. Breakfast is only offered as a guaranteed benefit Monday-Friday.

The good news here is...as alluded to in my earlier post...most full service properties go ahead and offer it (at least when asked) to plats on weekends.

El Paso Marriott - lounge closed on the weekend. Free fresh start breakfast or $2 for hot breakfast in the restaurant. They have a list of names at the hostess station.

Marriott Park City

I just stayed at the Marriott Park City and they had recently added a lounge that is also open on weekends.

The staff is not typical Concierge, but friendly anyway. Pretty simple offerings and a pretty casual environment (people hanging out in bathrobes on the way to or back from the pool area).

Seemed there were lots of kids/familes hanging out there, and the door was kept open for anyone with access to that floor to come and go as they pleased.

This was not a typical business location and the guests at the lounge surely reflected this environment. I noticed a couple food frenzies when new items were brought out for evening appetizers (1 item served at a time).
