I was told by the call center last month it was discontinued. Never did get any of the points to post last year--but have all my stays this year with SPG so didn't really matter much.

Although relatively useless, i think the badges are fun.

With the new Marriott website rolling out, I was given the option of "opting in" to earn badges. Cluelessly, I opted in not realizing all my previously collected badges have now disappeared.
On the plus side, maybe I can double-dip on points for each badge I get!

Let us know if Marriott is offering a higher value than 25 points per badge.

I think you've hit on something.
If I do X stays at a brand, they mail me a big-@ss belt buckle of that brand's logo.
Seriously, who *wouldn't* want to rock a Courtyard belt buckle the size of a dinner plate? #highfashion

I too am now a proud owner of a JW badge! That being said, why is 12/13/19 so important that now all of these badges I've earned in 2017 expire then?
David
p.s. Ain't likely going to get to earn my Brand Explorer Badge since I'll not be staying at least two Editions and two MVC properties.
p.p.s. And then why do we still earn badges when the badge activity page is a) hidden and b) still says that, as of May 5, 2017, we can no longer earn badges?

I think for "brand explorer" you only need one stay at each brand. I have the "10 brand" explorer badge but only 7 brand-specific badges.
