Several folks have been posting on the Marriott Insider page complaints about the loss of points in the transition from the original points structure to the revised points structure. The responses from Marriott have implied that there might be a make-up deposit of points to those folks who got emails confirming 250 points but only had 25 points post a week later.
I've made contact --- will update back here if something positive comes out of it. Edited to add: Received all the points that were earned in early July (at the 250 point level). Sent them copies of the confirm emails. They were more generous than they needed to be --- I had asked for xxx points because there were some intervening re-tweets --- they gave me xxx points + 250. Worth the time to email in asking for the points, but the continuing promotion at the 25 point per activity, 100 point daily limit, isn't worth it for me. |

I think there may be another way, i.e. retweet twitters which already have #MRPoints in them, I have been doing this and have been getting twitter points (100/day).
Also, I tried to re-tweet a post from @MHMarquisNYC adding #MRpoints but didn't receive the points so far. |

"I apologize that the Plus Points Program went through some recent changes, and the bonus amounts awarded for certain social media activities were lowered as a result. As a one time courtesy I have posted 500 bonus points to your Marriott Rewards account for your social media activities." I received the points, but it is a little annoying that they gave me them as a "one time courtesy" when I was only asking for what they promised they would give me. |
This program has become a waste of time for facebook users (I do not have twitter). Its not worth it for 25 points and the program is so flaky that you don't even get the 25 points awarded at all anyway.

I agree
Not worth the trouble anymore, but thanks for the 4000 points while you figured it out!

I wondered who you contacted? I replied to the Marriott Plus Points email explaining the changes but I got no response. Did you complain to Marriott Rewards?

I received a "goodwill adjustment" to cover the gap between the 250 points in the emails I got and the 25 point that actually posted.

Here's the address that they asked me to send my Plus Points request to:
rewards.procedures[at]marriott.com along with the following information:
As I noted above in my edited post, they took care of me and gave me points at the 250 point level for pre-July devaluation social media activity. I had sent them copies of the qualifying emails (@250 points) for the various activities and the emails post-devaluation giving me points for some of the activities at 25 points. |
Thanks for the advice to contact through Facebook. I sent a message via Facebook, they said they'd pass it on to the correct department, and now I've got an email confirming I'll get the points I'd expected.

I've been using Hootsuite to manage my 3 daily tweets for #LoveMarriottRewards, #RenHotels and #AutographHotels and it's worked for the past week and a bit.
Since the program update, I still think this is the best strategy moving forward. What's everyone else doing now? Also, I painstakingly went through the new list of hotels added to the program because the current wiki is out of date and found all their twitter accounts if people want to go with the Follow route. (Edit: Just noticed another member also went through all the twitter accounts so sorry for the duplication here but hopefully someone finds use in my post anyhow) http://goingawesomeplaces.com/update...oints-program/ Hope that helps everyone! |
