Just signed up... I usually tag myself at Marriott anyways, so this is a great way of earning some additional points.

Signed up and connected facebook and found 4 pages to like for an easy 1000 pts. I already received an email for each like letting me know after I like them for a week then the points will post so hopefully next week I will see them.

Cool. I clean up my FB every month or so, deleting old checkins so this works.

This is the disclosure that comes up when you register for the promo:

"Marriott Rewards Plus Points will receive the following info: your public profile, friend list, email address, News Feed, relationships, relationship interests, birthday, notes, status updates, checkins, education history, events, groups, hometown, interests, current city, photos, questions, religious and political views, personal description and likes."

Also its only select Marriott, Rennaisance and Autograph properties. No Ritz-Carlton or other Marriott-owned.
I like free points, but I think I will pass.

I did this too! Just remember there is a max of 2K points per month.

Registration worked for me.

How long did it take to get the confirmation emails?

ETA: It took 2 hrs for the emails to come through with the confirmation.

I got them within a couple hours, probably even quicker. I also tried a foursquare checkin at a Renaissance hotel and a couple hours later got an email saying 25 pts have been added to my account and sure enough they already had dropped 25 pts in there.

Is there anyway to convert my Ritz Carlton rewards back to Marriott?

I signed up today - rewards plus wants to see your social media data but does not post for you or to you. I "Liked" rewards plus on Facebook and found a reason to use one of their hash-tags on twitter and about two hours later received E-mails thanking me for my activity and advising points would be deposited in my account. ^

Now only if they gave me points for time on FT :D

how about a list of FB pages to like?

My account signed up properly, the wife's did not. She was originally miles, changed to points but still no go.

It mentions a max of 2k points every 30 days (and not per month). Will have to be careful there, would hate to have missed some due to being 1 day too early

This is probably a smart move by Marriott, but isn't it them essentially "paying" for positive reviews? "#LoveMarriottRewards" haha. Although I guess we'll see people using the hashtags and then complaining about something - wonder if they'll still get the points :-)

It also says you don't even have to stay at the specific properties to post about them. That seems kinda dumb...

Has anyone gotten credit for liking/following a specific property on Facebook or Twitter? It isn't clear to me if that action actually results in 250 points from the rules. Last night, I liked the main Marriott, Renaissance, and Autograph Collection accounts and got emails about all of those (points to be awarded in 7 days). But I also liked a few specific properties on the official list, but I have not gotten any emails indicating those would give me any points.

Also used hashtags on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Only got an email about Instagram. No credit yet for Twitter or Facebook.

Am I reading this correct? Can we simply like 8 properties and get 2,000 points?

The data mining is precisely WHY they are doing it too. I am one of the hold outs who refuses to have a Twitter or FB account. Unfortunately Google and Yahoo! pretty much have all of us pegged down to what you are thinking at this exact moment anyways. lol

I'm sure after posting this I'll start seeing ads for Twitter and FB in my surfing..... sad. You can run but can't hide.

I keep a separate Facebook account and a separate Twitter account just for promos like this. Neither of those accounts are connected to my actual friends. (These accounts have 0 Facebook friends, and 0 Twitter followers.)

So there's no data to be mined, and none of my real friends will ever see these posts.

I'm currently getting an error message. I put together these lists of twitter and facebook profiles. Keep in mind you'll only be credited once every 24 hours per social action, so don't like/follow these all at once. This list originally appeared on a blog post I wrote about this offer.

So most social actions are limited to 1/day, but Facebook likes do not have that restriction.

Thanks, I was reading the actual terms & conditions and it says limited to one social action per day.

So even though Likes/Follows do not have an activity limit per day, they are limited to 2,000 points per 30 days?

I have successfully link my account with FB, Twitter and Instagram but have not received any email, or points? Could it be that the system is just overwhelmed at present? (I realize its in Beta).

I did a twitter hashtag and liked 8 pages. I did see the 25 points post about 8 hours later. Received 9 emails in my facebook-linked email address thanking me for liking or tweeting
