Is the "Unexpected Bonus" the new name for the MegaBonus (and should these be posted in the MegaBonus thread)?
In any event, mine is: one free night after every second paid stay (between 5/15 and 9/2), up to three free nights...category 1-4

I got a free Cat 1-5 certificate for every 2 paid stays and I am Gold.

I find the name change appropriate.
IMO there is nothing Mega about earning a bonus of 1.11--1.25 free nights in a top destination or 1.67--2 nights in a pretty good one by staying 25 nights!
Let me log into my Marriott account to see if I've gotten anything yet.
--Nothing yesterday, but today I got a free Cat 1-5 certificate for every 2 paid stays max 2, which is exactly what I want! I have my eye on the Marriott Ledra of Athens for September.
Maybe because I earned only 1 Cat. 4 in Fall 2012 & nothing in Spring 2013.
I am currently Gold through the promotion of Winter 2010-11. My Gold status was to expire in Feb. 2013, but they gave me a courtesy extension till Feb. 2014

I expected to find the unexpected bonus when I logged on but the website did not meet my expectation - no bonus listed.
I also have not gotten that mini one about staying at CY or FI.
Does one have to qualify for the current MegaBonus first for the new ones to show up? I qualified for the 35,000 and the 15,000 should be met after this week's stay posts.
I think if one's view is the long term lifetime status and you tend to stay at lower priced hotels, then points are better than free nights. I have exceeded 750 nights but still 300,000+ points away fro 2,000,000.

I am wondering whether the Marriott system can display more than 2 bonuses at a time and that may be why some may not be seeing the unexpected bonus = next M/B.
Right now, the current promotion has not ended yet and I have been selected for the mini-bonus, as well.
I have not seen the next M/B and it is unlikely that I will not be selected for same. Therefore, perhaps it is due to the fact that more than 2 bonuses can't be displayed at any one time and that some time after 5/1, I will also see some sort of variant of this bonus.
