Tomorrow is day 8; they'll be getting a call. Coworker said that her credit card didn't get charged yet. I need to check mine. We did get surveys about the stay.

Did your stay happen to be with a group or a convention?
Just curious, because these may take up to 30 days to post (but often do post after about 2 weeks).

I maintain the first post in this thread which should give you an idea of what to expect, unless they do something different,

Thanks for the information Vicki, wow, no deviation whatsoever! Just like a big corp like Marriott to cleave to the same schedule.

No, some were selected for a 1 - 5, but as I said above, it is probably too late to sign up for the less rewarding option, and even less of a chance for the better one, but it does not hurt to try.

Thanks. Very good info!
I guess I have to deal with no bonus then. Hilton I can get 12k bonus points with my stay but il trying to get gold at marriott. So some sacrifices will have to be made.

Non- N/A members seem to have gotten this offer.

The more interesting turn will be the offerings for the next round in June, will they stick to the now seriously devalued Cat 1-4 certs for most of us, or will they up the reward to match their increasing rates/category levels of most former CAT 4 properties.

A couple of weeks ago I called the Plat desk and asked to be switched off a Pts bonus to the Cat 1-5 , she came back and said its done but put me on the Cat 1-4 (already had 6 from previous Megs in my acct) so I said I asked for the Cat 1-5 which are 2 instead of 3 1-4s. She put me on hold again, came back and said Done

Although a few hotels didnt go up, most of those I would stay at did, so to me its either 3 up to Cat3 or 2 up to Cat 4. I will review it each time to see if I have any use for the new Cat4s (old cat3s) if I do then Id go with Stay 6 get 3, only problem is those Cat3s usually were very inexpensive that I never would have even used 15k and probably wont be a good return for the Mega but I guess there are better then nothing at all, just wont be worth doing any mattress runs for them

I agree. I will receive 2 of the cat 5's and likely will book them in Toronto before the hotels increase in May to a Category 6.

Of course, if I have to cancel the trip, I will be out of luck.

I do hope MR recognizes the devaluation of the standard Cat 1-4 certs once their new rates go into effect on 5/16/13 as I may just swing my stays to SPG if they do not.

Contrary to what others have said, I don't believe that SPG's cash and points has been gutted, and that it still remains a viable alternative, esp. for central city locations now that Marriott has placed them out of reach with its impending devaluation.

I agree. Basically till now C&P worked out cheaper , now with the new amounts its a wash , meaning it will cost the same as if you were using only pts. A Cat2 C&P was 1600 & 430 or 3k or 4k $ per pt meant C&P gave you more bang per pt, now it more or less will be the same amount as if you used all Pts

Big Difference is C&P earns Stay & Night credit with SPG (even with Hilton) but you earn Zippo with MR . If a person cashed in for 25 Stays @ Cat2s with SPG on weekends so for 75k (assuming there arent Gold or Plat = no Welcome gift) they will be Plat. Cash in the equivalent amount with MR and your a Nothing
