RE: Notes

Whenever I call MR I ask the switching megabonus question first. If the agent says "no" then I bring up another issue (like missing plat amenity for a stay) hoping that after the agent deals with that issue he/she will have forgotten about my initial request to switch megabonus offer. It has worked so far...

LOL, that conjures up all sorts of images of blond bubble heads. Seriously, how dumb some of the people who work CS must actually be to do that, or if they are not dumb, then that means MaineFlyer is some sort of super hero who can use his otherworldly charms to make people forget something just discussed 5 or 10 minutes earlier, AMAZING! And no, I don't doubt what MaineFlyer said, at all.

however, this promo, I was going to wait, when I finally decided to call and have them added. loh and behold the CSR said no note on my account existed (even though I had called and a gentleman told me he would manually track).

it was honored without issue.

however, note to self: I will likely always have the 1st cert added after the 2nd stay post just to make sure the note exist.

note: the certs are good for 1 year from the time they are posted. so, some may want to wait until end of promo to get more time out of their cert.

Strange as it may seem, I was put on a manual track and expected them all to post at the end of this promotion, yet, they all posted just before Thanksgiving. As I had no need of them then I was hoping for them to post to my account in January, 2013, but with the 1 year lifetime, it is no biggie.

Eventually got mine. Stay twice for a 1-5 Cat cert. Thanks Marriott

Has anyone else received the "Small Business by Marriott - Earn 5,000 Marriott Rewards® bonus points when you enjoy two weekday stays at participating hotels?"

I still have not received a Spring 2013 promo for Mega bonus yet, although I have been patient, so I will have to call after Wednesday, Jan 2 to inquire what's happening with no Mega promo offer.

personally, I'm special counsel to a major 5* brand and our staff has a list of codes to input on known repeated calls (like MRs would get each time they announce a new bonus program from members who want to change bonuses) so it doesn't take formally typing out the entire callers request but simply typing in a 2-digit code from the list.......

Can you beat your chest anymore? Do you realize how arrogant you sound? You bring a lot to this board, but you don't own it so stop acting like you do. You do realize most people view attorneys as POS scum don't you? This is a perfect example.

I was having trouble signing up for MegaBonus so emailed...

They said I was already enrolled (??) in Stay 2 get 1 Cat 1-4, but with a max of 2. Surprisingly it now shows up (they must have fixed something) on www.marriottrewards.com and shows a max of 3 nights.

Back on topic - I need to call to see which one I'm registered for this time. Hopefully the stay 2, get 1 Cat 1-4. If not, see if they'l change it to that.

Cheers.

Wondering if anyone out there has some advice...

- For the Fall 2012 promotion, I was originally registered for the 'Earn 25,000 points after 15 paid nights + 15,000 points after 20 paid nights—up to 40,000 bonus points' promotion
- I requested a change to the 'Max (3) CAT 1-4 Free Cert for every 2 stays' promotion as I didn't think I would reach 35 nights and was given the change
- Ended up receiving three certificates after six stays midway through the promotion (entered manually obviously) but eventually I also reached the 35 nights threshold so 40,000 points were deposited into my account
- I now have both the certificates and the 40,000 points but I realize I am only entitled to one of them (well technically only entitled to the certificates since I requested a change in promotion)

- For the Spring 2013 promotion I registered for the promotion that had been selected for me - 'Max (3) CAT 1-4 Free Cert for every 2 stays'
- I now would rather have the 40,000 points than certificates for the Fall 2012 promotion as I will be getting certificates for the Spring 2013 promotion and I don't need that many certificates

Any advice on how to handle this? I PM'd Marriott Concierge on 12/27/12 but haven't heard back and am worried that if I call, they will take away the points and make me keep the certificates.

Thanks for the advice!

I was the exact opposite on the promo prior to the fall (Last Summer/spring whatever) They posted the points when I earned them and then a few days after the end of the promo they took away my certificates. I would expect that may evenutally take your points as you weren't suppose to get them. I think it has to do with the manual posting that occurs if you change. They didn't seem to turn off the 'automatic' posting.

I decided to just call customer support and see what happens. They were very helpful - removed the three certificates and stated the points will remain.

Already have one certificate that expires in September, will be getting my credit card certificate (CAT 1-5) in March, and will be earning at least two more with the new MegaBonus so the 40,000 points were much more beneficial to me this time around.

Will a stay with 1/30 check in and 2/3 check out count?

I have a stay already booked with these dates so I'm hoping it will count! I checked the T&C but it didn't clarify if it was the check in or check out date or both that was important for meeting the timing.

Thanks for any info :-)

Only the nights after the beginning of the promo period will count. So, in your case, the nights of 1/30 and 1/31 will not count, but the nights of 2/1 and 2/2 will count, so you will receive promo credit for either 2 nights or 1 stay, depending on which promo you have.
